This is just an update of previous write-ups. Jim Paterson the airport manager is very pleasant and helpful. He gave me the crew car and directions to a nice restaurant in town. Best gas prices in the area and a nice facility. ATT cell services is poor.

What a great stop. Easy in, easy out, best fuel prices around by far, friendly people and a nice terminal to take a little break in.

Jim Paterson the airport manager was wonderful. We called ahead to reserve the airport car. He had it waiting for us on the ramp. He recommended Hazel's Cafe for breakfast - another good stop for a hearty meal. He also put us on to the Baymount Inn and Suites. A great place - modern, all the amenities and courteous. We recently stayed at Marriott (what gorging prices and little service); well the Baymount proves service at a third of the cost. Arrange courtesy airport/hotel transportation with Scott and he will appear. RFI was a very nice stop.

Wonderful little airport with easy access fuel at a great price (as advertised). Stopped in around dusk, no one at the facility, but snacks and drinks were available for purchase (on the honor system). FBO was accessible via CTAF code. Will definitely stop by again when in the area!

Stopped in for a quick cross country fill up, and was not disappointed. New SS pump worked great. The airport appears to be undergoing major improvements and some construction is visible. But access in and out was great and the fuel price was as advertised. Thanks, Rusk County, for helping to hold down the cost of flying!!

Stopped in for a gas stop around 6 in the evening. No one was there, but fuel was VERY cheap (about 2.15 if I remember correctly, but the price is broadcast on ASOS). The FBO looked brand new with nice couches, a small snack bar and computer for planning (24 hour access). A wonderful little fuel stop.

Great FBO and fuel stop. I've been stopping there for years. Now there is a courtesy car and 24 hour self-serve fuel. Access to the FBO 24 hours. Really nice comfortable couches and amenities in the FBO. Hometown atmosphere if you go to town. There are a couple of nice new hotels, plenty of home cooking restaurants, bar-b-que, catfish, etc. Town rolls up sidewalks at 10:00 but there is a Super Walmart if you need something. Airport manager has worked really hard lately in making Henderson a friendly GA airport. Best fuel prices in Texas!

The rig between 16 & 12 has been removed, however 12/30 is now closed due to a rig on the runway 12-approach end. Big news is that the new fuel pump is now operational and 100LL price remains the same. Available 24/7 with MC or Visa.

Well-maintained runways and taxiways. Watch out for drilling rig between Rwy 12 and Rwy 16 approaches. Fuel price very competitive. Gas pump is troublesome (as noted below), so be sure Manager Jim is there to help sweet talk/arm twist the pump into delivering. Says a new pump on order. Great FBO and service!

Stopped in today and had great assistance from the airport manager. Could not have topped off fuel without him, since the surging problem is still there. He revived the flow by tapping on the fuel filter with the nozzle off, to let the pressure rebuild. The system needs maintenance.
Response from Jim Patterson, Rusk County Airport Yes, all the comments (and many not on AirNav) are true. As the current Manager, I hear them daily. The fuel pump is extremely temperamental. Don't write us off yet - we are presently working with TX DOT to get everything ready to advertise for bids on a complete NEW fuel farm - above ground tanks, pump, card reader, etc. We WILL keep the lowest fuel prices around now and when the new system is operational. Meanwhile, I will do everything possible to get 100LL fuel for you.

I landed there around 8:00am on March 9th. The self-service pump seem to surge as I pumped and the fuel flow stopped after 2.5 gallons. I believe that their tank was dry. However, I was able to use their excellent pilot lounge and AOPA directory to call Panola County - 28 miles east - and confirm that they have fuel.
