Went to Flabob for breakfast the other day. 5 and a half bucks bought me a very good ham and egg breakfast. Will be back for sure. Transient parking is no longer in the grassy areas, but in front of the DC-3. There are about 6 new, well-marked spots.

A simple call to the airport manager at 951-683-2309 yields the updated Flabob Cafe number as 951-686-6660. As of 9/30/2010. If you are looking for five star this is not it. If you have a hard time coming to an airport that does not have a control tower, a 9000' runway and someone with a little red carpet to unroll at your feet as you step off the plane, don't come. For the rest of us, this is fun.

I've always wanted to fly into Flabob and finally got my chance this weekend on the way back from Arizona. Disappointed doesn't begin to describe my reaction. The cafe reeked of bleach. The bathroom was filthy. Yes, the menu items are a buck or two less than what you might pay at slightly more upscale air park eateries, but if Flabob is a throw-back to the 1940's, as other reviews contend, then the food is definitely to be thrown back. I had a meatloaf sandwich that was nothing more than an overcooked hamburger patty on white bread, smothered in congealed gray gravy. The mashed potatoes it came with were instant and tasted of chalk. My wife ordered a Reuben that was greasy, over-cooked and downright nasty, which more or less matched the waitress's disposition. The pictures on the walls of old pilots and airplanes are certainly cooked, but they're not edible. Unfortunately, neither was our lunch.

I'm with Charlie all the way. Riverside tower knows how popular Flabob is, and is more than helpful in getting you in. The cafe itself is a step back in time, with great service and a 1940 atmosphere. With their low fuel prices, this is a marvelous $94.40 hamburger.

Mr. Crenshaw has it all wrong. The Flabob Cafe is a true gem and a very popular "real" airport cafe. Plenty of easy parking, a great fuel pit, and a 100 yd walk to the cafe, what could be better? The Ontario and March airspace is no big deal, and Riverside Class D offers a very easy transition. Bottom line is the Flabob Cafe is a must for any aviation enthusiast!

Wouldn't go to Flabob on a $100 bet. No one answers Unicom, cafe hard to find, published data in New 31st edition has the cafe at the BP pump, but the pump is now at the West end and Cafe is undefined at the East end. Their phone has been disconnected. Avoiding Ontario, Riverside and March AFB is a challange. Cheap fuel and good hamburgers are a great reason. Expensive fuel and hard to find parking and absent cafe are a reason to avoid Flabob.
