Stopped here again. Jerry is awesome!

My family and I stopped in here for a planned fuel stop on 2 Aug 2008 in our Cessna 172. I inadvertantly had left my oil cap off in Kansas City and had lost 75% of my oil. Being a new pilot, I was a little freaked out by that and I think Marvin the airport mechanic came in on a Saturday and checked my aircraft out for me. We ended up staying the night locally. Simply put, the staff at this airport are second to none in my opinion. They could not have been any more accommodating to me and my family. They offered the use of the airport car with no questions asked and were just exceptional people. I will always stop in here if in the area.

Thanks Marvin, for being such a nice guy! Helped us with everything we needed, whether we asked or not. The Holiday Inn Express across the street is one of the nicest motels we have stayed at.

Last Wednesday we had an in flight emergency and we were forced to land in Sparta IL. We had smoke in the cockpit and oil on the windscreen. Cracked cylinder. Bad news. Marvin greeted us and immediately ordered a new cylinder and started the process to get us back in the air as quickly as possible. He put his personal life on hold and made sure that we were taken care of. He is a great mechanic and a fine individual. I'm grateful for Sparta Aero and Marvin Campbell.

We did an emergency forced landing into Sparta last Wednesday in our A-36 Bonanza. We had smoke in the cockpit and oil on the windshield. Yeoww! CRACKED CYLINDER. Marvin the airport manager immediately ordered a cylinder and made arrangements to get the engine repaired. He worked on the engine well into the night to help us get home. He is a great mechanic and a prince of a man.

Stopped in for the weekend to visit WSRC just North of town. We were greeted at the self-serve pump by the airport manager who pumped our fuel and offered the use of the Courtesy Car for the weekend (Enterprise had left the office). Thanks for all, Marvin! We'll be back.

Deviated around weather and landed in Sparta late on a Friday hoping for either self-serve fuel or an FBO that was open late. The self-serve fuel worked great, and is reasonably priced. We saw two hotels and several fast-food joints within walking distance so we decided to spend the night instead of pressing on. About the time we made the decision to stay, one of the airport board members drove up to see if we needed help. He kindly gave us a ride to the hotel so we wouldn't have to carry our bags across the street. Thank you! Even though it's a small town airport, it's a great choice for an overnight stop -- self-serve fuel, food and good lodging within easy walking distance.

Excellent service and a great fuel price. Offered a crew car without asking, but as noted before, it's not necessary as reasonable food and lodging are right across the street. Good computer weather info. Cool airplanes and friendly people in the hangar. This is a great place to stop.

Great service, quick and friendly. Stuck overnight due to weather and was given the crew car overnight without even asking. Food and motel were in easy walking distance too so the car wasn't necessary but greatly appreciated. Directed to computer weather and phone on arrival. 24 hour fuel by credit card with full service same price while attended. Very good fuel price which is broadcast on the AWOS with tax included so no bait and switch surprises on the bill like so many FBO's are doing these days. My thanks and complements to the lineman, I believe Brandon.

I have stopped here regularly for 15 years. Great place with great prices and a car. Always polite and have everything you need is across the street.
