I have bought fuel from Golden State for 21 years; they are almost always quick and have done a very good job for our company.

As a private pilot visiting San Diego from out of town, I wanted to see this beautiful area from the air. I rented one of their Archers and flew with one of their instructors named Red. It was a great experience, and these guys run a first-class operation.

Golden State has been alive for so many years, and it's thanks to the owners, Steve and Richard. I have always felt safe flying their airplanes and with the people they have on their maintenance staff, that opinion will never change. Unfortunately, as a dispatcher and FBO Admin Assistant out in Phoenix, I know firsthand that FBOs do not have much control over fuel prices. San Diego, in itself, is not cheap, and I have found that Golden State has always been helpful with competitive fuel pricing on the field. They carry a variety of pilot supplies in their facility, and are always there to give you a hand with any problems you have. I think Golden State is my favorite FBO in San Diego because the atmosphere is just like home. There are pilots from all ends of the spectrum that are always up for a chat. Golden State is definitely worth a try.
