We visited San Diego for 3 days and parked our bird at Golden State. The tiedown was free, and the fuel truck pulled up within 2 minutes of our arrival. Our Hertz rental car was ready and waiting. Everyone was very friendly, and I felt happier supporting a local aviation business than the typical impersonal corporate FBO. We'll definitely make Golden State our FBO of choice in San Diego from now on.

While their facility is pretty old, they more than make up for it in service. I flew in at 6PM (their closing time) and the Golden State folks stayed late and helped fuel my King Air for a long flight back to Texas. Excellent service, friendly, definitely worth the stop. I'll be back.

As a private pilot visiting San Diego from out of town, I wanted to see this beautiful area from the air. I rented one of their Archers and flew with one of their instructors named Red. It was a great experience, and these guys run a first-class operation.
