I am a local of sorts as I fly in often from Kingman (KIGM). I have been waiting for some time for the new restaurant to open on the airport. Last Friday I had the opportunity to fly a couple of coworkers there for breakfast. The new facility is very nice in appearance, a bit smaller than the old building though. Service is good. The menu is smaller and all the great croissant breakfasts are gone. The food although good is reminiscent of a breakfast you might get in Sausalito CA in Marin County. I miss the old establishment. The FBO will of course rent you a car and in some cases give you a crew car for trips to town. Lots of good places to eat there. The FBO service remains top-notch.

We came in during a busy morning. We dropped off our request for fuel and took our rental car out on the town. The next morning, we found our aircraft already serviced but no ticket could be found. After a few minutes of searching they were able to find it. Because of the perceived hassle (which there were none), they gave us a break on some of their services. Very personable employees that cater to both the big jets and us little guys.

Flew in, in my 414 and stayed two nights. There was a little problem with my fuel order on the way out, but it was quickly rectified and the guys were nice enough to waive parking fees to make up for it. Terrific destination, good fuel prices (if you can carry it because of the density altitude), and overall good service.

Nice place to visit. Took advantage of crew car to grab lunch in town and they were nice enough to recommend a few local places. Fuel prices are reasonable and plane was ready by the time we returned.

I was unprepared for how beautiful the Sedona area was while coming in for landing. Very nice FBO building. Had made arrangements for a rental car -- they are separate from Red Rock Aviation -- and have their own counter in the building. Rental car was very nice. Stayed at the Sky Ranch lodge just down the street. Got a View room -- wow! The restaurant building is under construction. Sedona is a great place to fly into with your significant other!

While the restaurant of field is closed, they have cars available (better than typical courtesy car) if you purchase at least 10 gallons. We filled out a quick form and were on our way into town. We had lunch at he Javelina Cafe (recommended) and came back to find the airplane fueled as requested and the receipt ready to go. Great stop and everyone was friendly and responsive.

Went twice to Sedona over the last 12 months. As there is no competition on the field, do not expect much. Still front desk staff was always nice and prompt to refuel the plane upon request. The on site local rental company is cheap but as written below, you can expect the worst for this... The next door hotel (which offer a great view over the rim) can also come to pick you up.

The FBO was nice, people friendly enough. Charged $10 per night for tie down even though we bought gas. Someone from the airport gave my wife the third degree as she went to enter the field back to our plane. I appreciate airport security...But trust me.... My wife has no appearance as a terrorist. Since I landed on Friday, they suggested I wait to fuel the next day to get the weekend discount. Also filled all my tires. Good FBO--would like to have had more service in getting our rental car for this price, but otherwise good.

Regular flyer to SEZ airport. The staff at Red Rock is great and if you call ahead they will get the car ahead of your arrival. Fantastic View.

The restaurant on the airport is closed for demolition and rebuilding. Red Rock will provide a crew car to drive into Sedona to eat; call ahead, especially on weekends, as they can get pretty busy.

This is our standard first stop out of Los Angeles, this fuel stop introduces us to the idea that people are going to be outgoing, friendly, and helpful as we make our way across the country. The plane was fueled quickly and cleanly while we took a short walk around the airport. My younger son left his laptop charger in the passenger lounge (not technically part of Red Rock's business), and the Red Rock guys located it, called us, and mailed it back to us on the East Coast. Outstanding service from great people.

The folks in Sedona are very lucky to have such magnificent natural beauty that attracts pilots to their airport. Without that, my experience was the worst I have ever experienced. The FBO was totally unhelpful. The rental car company at the airport was incompetent. The rental car was a beat up, barely operating vehicle with over 125K miles on it. The only nice comment I got was upon settling my parking and fuel bill before departure, I was asked whether I had a good time. Rather than start a confrontation, I bit my tongue and left without further comment. If this is a tax supported airport, the people of Sedona should pay a little more attention to the people responsible for making first impressions with aviators arriving into Sedona. Too many other choices. Forget about this one.

Needed maintenance done, they couldn't really help me with it so I had to go to Barnstormers in Cottonwood. Plus the gas was about 30 cents cheaper. Other than that Red Rock was a nice facility and the people were friendly.

Flew into KSEZ on Thursday, as it is one of my usual destination places. Only spent the afternoon, and they waved the fees, even though I had plenty of fuel and didn't need to get any. Red Rock Aviation has always been courteous and helpful every time I have landed there. There are some of the more exotic places one can fly to, that have an attitude as a result, but Red Rock Aviation always treats you as a valued customer. If you haven't done already, fly to Sedona for a great trip, and see what service is about.

Great view and great people! First time to Sedona. Not as intimidating as I imagined. Lots of Heli traffic! Interesting history on the walls showing the development of the airport.

Another good experience as I topped off my PC12. Pleasant, friendly people and very good prices. I also learned that on Saturday mornings until 2PM they are providing all fuel purchase customers a 20 cent per gallon discount. Keep up the good work, you are my favorite airport! Tom Z

I had been to Sedona a lot of times with different airplanes and always found people at Red Rock Aviation very friendly and efficient; it is not a fancy facility with red carpet like a Signature, but their fuel prices are very reasonable and you don't get hit with ramp fees if you don't buy fuel. Sedona has become my home airport now and I love it here.

Nice airport and the guys at Sky Trek Tours gave us some valuable advice on flying over/around the Grand Canyon. Our plane was refueled as we requested on our return, but don't expect any help with parking, carrying baggage, etc.

Stopped twice in the past week, I'd say previous comments remain valid - friendly folks, beautiful location, decent fuel price...But not the place to stop if you are on a schedule - never mind that I called ahead to verify I could get fuel. After landing I was told that he opened at 6, he never said I could get fuel at 6..

Flew up to SEZ today 8-9-09 in a Saratoga with a flight instructor. Had a great lunch at the restaurant there and noticed the Red Rock Bi-plane tours Waco was sitting right out side. We went through the security gate and walked out to the plane to look at it. Some guy that obviously works for these guys screamed over "don't touch that plane" we were six to eight feet behind the plane and looking from there. To boost his obviously damaged ego I said "Oh no we won't touch it we are just looking". He screamed again "you better not touch that plane". Do what you want but I will not use their services. Unfortunately for them I belong to two clubs in Phoenix and fly out of Deer Valley, and hang out at one of the major flight schools with Charter services. Do yourself a favor avoid these people, Sedona is too beautiful to let some guy ruin your trip.

Stayed in Sedona on 08/03/2009 for one night. The FBO was reliable in filling up the plane, but it would have been nice for someone to come and help us with the luggage instead of wondering if someone actually did attend the airport. Other than that it was a good experience. N17386.
