This was our last stop headed west across the country, returning home in our little piston single. Red Rock is always staffed by someone friendly who takes the fuel order and points us to the lunch place on the field. The plane was fueled and ready to go when we finished lunch and there's not much more we needed. Everything was handled smoothly and professionally.

At some airports, the tour operators act like they own the airspace. Not these guys. I reported 10 miles out that I was inbound for landing and one of the tour helicopters that was on departure was nice enough to give very informative advisories. On our way out the lowly 172SP only took on 15 gallons yet the friendly folks at Red Rock treated us like royalty. The carrier landing didn't bother me much because I was too busy trying to keep the airspeed and crosswind under control. The AFD wasn't kidding about the downdrafts on the approach end of 21! It all smoothes out at 300AGL, so it's best not to freak out when that happens.

Wife and I flew our Comanche 250 into Sedona on May 24, 2013. As a former naval aviator landing on CV Sedona did not bother me, but was given a heads up about the crosswinds. Good call, as there are lots of swirling winds on the approach. Later found out that it's always like that in the afternoon. Stayed at the Sky Ranch Lodge, which is 600 yards from the airport. Excellent hotel. Also had a rental car for 25 dollars a day. Had no problems with the car as others have indicated. Ate at the Cafe on the airport and would have had the prime rib except that we had a huge lunch in Flagstaff. Still the Mesa grill is fantastic to sit and have a glass of wine and watch airplanes, stars, the moon and the colors of the canyons. Fuel discount of 20 cents a gallon given on Saturdays. Definitely one of the best layovers we had. Will definitely be back.

Gorgeous airport, must stop over if possible. Friendly staff, but had some issues. Rented a car for a couple days from the local rental co on the field and the car ended up overheating and not being drivable when I was in Flagstaff! My 1 of 2 days of snowboarding was shot and they had to pick me up to get me back to Sedona. They didn't charge me for the rental, but time is more valuable then the rental charge. They did offer a free day of rental the next time I come in, which is nice of them. If you're going for a few hours, the local co is probably fine. (They even have hourly rates, most of the cars are older.) But, if you're going to be doing more driving, probably safer to go with the national co's. Restaurant is upscale and very nice. Sedona is a very beautiful destination and highly recommended.

This has to be one of the best view airports in the country, but then the food at the restaurant is excellent so five stars from me.

While conducting jet training, we landed here and took on fuel and lunch. Great FBO experience and wonderful meal at the restaurant overlooking the ramp and runway. As needed, we will return for a pleasant experience and beautiful scenery.

We stopped in for gas, lunch and go. Great service at FBO and restaurant! This airport is busy on beautiful weekend days, but well worth it...This is one of the most stunning airports I've ever flown into. Parking is close to FBO, and only about 200 yards to restaurant.

On 8-31-12, my A36 sprung an major oil leak flying into SEZ; since Red Rock has limited repair capability, I was referred ABS to Jay Kerger, Legend Aviation, PRC, 928-443-9333, for repair; meanwhile, lineman at Red Rock helped locate a local mechanic, Pat Moore, who correctly identified the source of the leak and gave me enough information to assess the risk of flying to PRC. Thanks to Red Rock, Mr. Moore and Mr. Kerger at Legend in PRC, the acft was repaired in record time.

We stayed in Sedona for a few days with our sons and their families. What an experience landing and taking off from the USS Sedona! We had a wonderful time and Red Rock Aviation could not have been more accommodating! Thanks Guys!

Beautiful airport sitting on top of a mesa. Friendly line, fuel is quick and timely. No oxygen service when I was there. Be sure to stop over for breakfast. The cross winds can be a bit of a challenge but plenty of room.

Stopped in with the wife on 3/24 to check out SEZ, had never been there even though I am only a couple hundred NM from there. What a view! I found my self staying at a higher altitude to just fly around and did the same on departure. Had lunch at the Mesa Grill, good food, they do a great job with their service as well. We collected some information for our next visit, which will be for the weekend. The folks at the FBO were very friendly and informative. Will be back again and may even take a ride in the Waco... Hard to turn away from getting a ride in a Waco! ;o)

Flew to Sedona for a weekend trip 2/24-2/26 and landed around 530pm. The gentleman at the FBO was extremely friendly and helpful. Our Hertz rental car set to deliver at 4:15pm wasn't delivered, the gentleman was nice enough to give us a ride to the hotel (Sky Ranch Lodge we found out is 100 yards away). He also told me to wait to fuel until Saturday as they offer a nice .20-cent discount on Saturdays. My wife and I ate both nights at the really nice on airport cafe Mesa Grill. A little more pricey then the normal airport grease restaurants but the atmosphere, food quality still makes the Mesa Grill a great value. Try the Prime Rib if they have it, you won't be disappointed! Also try to catch a sunrise or sunset at the Sunset Point on the northwest side for an amazing view!

I am a local of sorts as I fly in often from Kingman (KIGM). I have been waiting for some time for the new restaurant to open on the airport. Last Friday I had the opportunity to fly a couple of coworkers there for breakfast. The new facility is very nice in appearance, a bit smaller than the old building though. Service is good. The menu is smaller and all the great croissant breakfasts are gone. The food although good is reminiscent of a breakfast you might get in Sausalito CA in Marin County. I miss the old establishment. The FBO will of course rent you a car and in some cases give you a crew car for trips to town. Lots of good places to eat there. The FBO service remains top-notch.

We came in during a busy morning. We dropped off our request for fuel and took our rental car out on the town. The next morning, we found our aircraft already serviced but no ticket could be found. After a few minutes of searching they were able to find it. Because of the perceived hassle (which there were none), they gave us a break on some of their services. Very personable employees that cater to both the big jets and us little guys.

Flew in, in my 414 and stayed two nights. There was a little problem with my fuel order on the way out, but it was quickly rectified and the guys were nice enough to waive parking fees to make up for it. Terrific destination, good fuel prices (if you can carry it because of the density altitude), and overall good service.

Nice place to visit. Took advantage of crew car to grab lunch in town and they were nice enough to recommend a few local places. Fuel prices are reasonable and plane was ready by the time we returned.

I was unprepared for how beautiful the Sedona area was while coming in for landing. Very nice FBO building. Had made arrangements for a rental car -- they are separate from Red Rock Aviation -- and have their own counter in the building. Rental car was very nice. Stayed at the Sky Ranch lodge just down the street. Got a View room -- wow! The restaurant building is under construction. Sedona is a great place to fly into with your significant other!

While the restaurant of field is closed, they have cars available (better than typical courtesy car) if you purchase at least 10 gallons. We filled out a quick form and were on our way into town. We had lunch at he Javelina Cafe (recommended) and came back to find the airplane fueled as requested and the receipt ready to go. Great stop and everyone was friendly and responsive.

Went twice to Sedona over the last 12 months. As there is no competition on the field, do not expect much. Still front desk staff was always nice and prompt to refuel the plane upon request. The on site local rental company is cheap but as written below, you can expect the worst for this... The next door hotel (which offer a great view over the rim) can also come to pick you up.

The FBO was nice, people friendly enough. Charged $10 per night for tie down even though we bought gas. Someone from the airport gave my wife the third degree as she went to enter the field back to our plane. I appreciate airport security...But trust me.... My wife has no appearance as a terrorist. Since I landed on Friday, they suggested I wait to fuel the next day to get the weekend discount. Also filled all my tires. Good FBO--would like to have had more service in getting our rental car for this price, but otherwise good.
