Right magneto died after landing here. James came out, set the broken plane up in a hangar and showed us how to get to the truck stop to wait for the mechanic to pull the mag for service. Top notch. The gate code is #9942, not what is listed here and in the A/FD.

Nice unattended airport. The Pilot Lounge is clean, features a computer with Internet access, a clean restroom, a couch and blankets and running water. Numbers for local Hotels are provided and they pick you up from the airport. We stayed overnight at the Best Western Adobe Inn and it was a nice stay. There is a self-service gas station and the "main" runway is in good condition. The Runway 08/26 is only in fair condition, a lot of grass and stones on it - I wouldn't take off there, but then again it was good for a photo-shooting on the original Route66 which this runway now rests on. Nice airport for an overnight stay.

September 13, 2011 stopped for fuel and overnight. Airport is unattended, but Jim Anaya answers his phone and is very helpful. Nice pilot lounge with a computer and clean rest rooms. Two local motels provide transportation to and from the airport. Nice place to stop whether a quick turn around or a night's stay.

When you land at this airport you will find yourself locked inside the perimeter fence. The gate can be opened only from the outside! The airport manager, James Anaya, told me that the NTSB has not allowed him to connect the inside gate controller. (I didn't know that this is an NTSB concern.) Leave your folding bicycle at home.

Stopped here on the way to Lake Powell- every thing works just fine! Several local motels have posted phone numbers to call. We cheapened out and went with the Super 8. Super nice folks & clean. I've paid more for less! I would stop here again

I stopped at Santa Rosa airport today and found the self serve pump to be working very well. The restroom was clean and in full working order. Both runways are open and usable. Runway 26-8 is not in as good shape as 1-19, but was certainly usable for the 20K west wind blowing today. There is a computer available in the pilot shack and television if you are staying longer. There are no other services available. You should use another airport if you need a lunch break or overnight hangar.
