Air Sal is conveniently located near the approach end of 27R. I stopped in Friday night and Sunday afternoon, and they were closed. The sign says it is open M-F until 5:00 p.M. I don't remember when it opens. There is a soda machine by the front door and a restroom on the outside wall of the next building. There also appears to be a Cantina in the building to the west. Music was pouring from a patio this Friday night. The 100LL self-service fuel pump was easy to find and worked okay. The price was as listed here and LOW! Air Sal is definitely a bargain. I was only there for fuel and to pick up passengers, so cheap gas and well-lighted parking (for aircraft and cars) made this a perfect stop for me.

Air Sal is a no frills FBO. They have the cheapest fuel in S. Fla. The ramp was full of folks working on aircraft, flying hangars and enjoying the airport. I filled with fuel and tied down my aircraft. Went to the office to check in to find no one around. Spent 4 hours at the airport and left without seeing anyone from the FBO. I will always return when in Miami

Good idea to bring your own tie down ropes -- just in case.

Air Sal is a no-frills FBO...I mean none! But the owner/manager was very friendly and helpful with getting our rental car and seeing if we need anything. No ramp fees or charges unless you buy fuel at the best price on the field. If you don't need anything other than a place to park your plane, this is the best deal on the field.
