Great service! We flew in late on a Friday night and I'm pleased to say it was an excellent experience. Car was brought right up to the plane and on departure nearly the whole staff was ready, able and willing. Be sure to ask for Bobby!

Flew in over the Thanksgiving holiday to visit with the in-laws. Fuel is still $4.50 per gallon and they charge you $10 per night and a $10 ramp fee (that's why the guys don't get a tip!) Sorry Pam, but your fuel is too expensive for me, a little guy who rents a club plane.

Line guys were helpful and expeditious. The woman at the desk inside, however, was just the opposite. She was unhelpful and rude and couldn't wait to go outside for her smoke break. For $4.60 a gallon of Jet-A, you'd think they could hire a courteous CSR.

I have to stop here because my in-laws live nearby, but I don't buy gas anymore!!! $4.50 per gallon? You'd think you were in Ft Lauderdale or West Palm Beach; I bought gas at Union County, SC (only an hour away) at $3.85/gallon. They are now charging a $10 per night fee to park-ridiculous, putting us little guys out like that.

When I flew in on Mother's Day to visit Mom, I discovered that they had a $10 ramp fee just for taxiing in. They'd waive it if I bought 20 gallons of fuel, but I had no room in the Warrior's tanks for 20 gallons. I paid the fee and bought my fuel elsewhere. I consider a fee like that to be a big "Go away, we don't want you!" sign. Disappointing considering that I learned to fly at TRI and based an airplane there for many years.

We had reason to be in TRI to visit family. It was a cold winter night in early February '07. Mike, Tri-Cities Aviation GM, is one of the poorest and arrogant examples of managing a GA airport to service the flying public, that I have seen anywhere we fly our P210. Their prices are outrageous for fuel and overnight cold hangar space ($200 per night for single engine, with or without fuel purchase, $300 per night for heated hangar for single-engine) and their 100LL prices are at least $1 more than anyone in the area. They offer little flight line service and are proud of it. I strongly recommend avoiding TRI only if absolutely necessary, even during the high season NASCAR races in nearby Bristol, as it will be high season rip-off time for all. Avoid it at all cost. Nearby KVJI, Virginia Highlands Airport, is a welcome change and you save $ and headache. LOC and GPS approach with 4500x75 ft of asphalt.

Thanks to everyone for the post, it really helps prepare when traveling. Had planned to visit this area, but now will consider alternatives.

A C150, VFR, from Georgia to Maryland with a fuel stop at KTRI. Was surprised with a 10.00-landing fee. Will not stop there again due to this fee. Stopped at KVJI on my return to Georgia. KVJI furnished excellent service. Nice FBO and no landing fee.

Stopped at this FBO twice in May, the woman working the desk was very helpful with a crew car and directions for lunch. The $10 ramp fee, even with fuel purchase is absolutely ridiculous for use of a sub-par facility.

I flew into TRI 5/27/06 and left 5/29/06. I had read the comments and was hesitant to say the least. Price of fuel was accurate on AirNav. Ramp fee was 10 dollars but I did know of it. Tie down fee was 10 dollars per night for a single (sundowner). Line crew was exceptionally courteous and very efficient. The lady inside really should learn to lighten up, smile, and improve her people skills. But, she was not rude and the overall experience was very positive. We were there on vacation and I would go there again. Having this info ahead of time through AirNav was very helpful.

Well I can't really add much about the ramp fee however; I can say that the folks that work at TRI are great. Jacklyn in the evening and the ramp guys always take care of me (I fly in several times per week) and I appreciate their efforts. They make me feel like they are my home based FBO (which is actually in GSO) and that is hard to put a price on.

I teach at Elizabethton Airport (0A9-12 miles SW of TRI) and have a friend coming into town and flying into TRI. I heard from the tower that Tri City Aviation is charging a $10 ramp fee to park my plane for 5 minutes. I called the FBO (Thinking since we are neighbors they might waive it) but she said her hands were tied. Very nice lady on the phone but pretty poor management. I know Elizabethton (0A9) and VJI will not charge a landing fee. I think I'll drive and pick him up and keep my $10.

I am the Director of Maintenance of a prominent Part 135 operation and have unscheduled maintenance performed at Tri-City Aviation on a regular base. My turn around time at Tri-City is only a few hours and in my opinion Mike does everything he can to meet my schedule.

These people charged me a $10 ramp fee to come to their ramp and BUY THEIR SKY HIGH FUEL. What a bunch of idiots! Who in the *&%$ do they think they are charging me to park on their ramp when all I am there for is to buy fuel. In the future I will go to Virginia Highlands (KVJI), gas is $.65 cheaper, rental cars are cheaper, no ramp fees, and they ACTUALLY WANT MY BUSINESS, unlike these idiots at this FBO. Stay away.

We stopped here on New Years day 2006 on our way to Florida from Canada. Normally we clear customs here (very friendly lady) but they were not open (which I knew about because we called ahead). It was pretty quiet on the field (not unexpected on a New Year's morning) but the people were quite friendly. Fuel is a bit pricey, but we weren't charged a ramp fee.

I fly into this airport DAILY for my company. Recently, I had a problem with my plane and needed to have an A&P look at it. It was hard to find someone who was interested! Finally, I got my plane in the shop (after telling the maintenance, folks I had to be airborne not later than 4PM). At about 15:45, I went into the shop to find no one had looked at it and ended up having to explain to the maintenance supervisor (Mike) what the problem was, where it was, and how it was causing me problems! Then I found out he couldn't work on it that day! I was told to check back the next day, and they MAY be able to look at it. The following day, I checked with Mike and was told "We'll look at it when we can and if we can!" I found this very upsetting. My company is trying to THROW MONEY at these people, and they're not interested!!! WRONG ATTITUDE. I cannot recommend this operation, based on this experience. Seems like only one person makes the decisions and doesn't really care what the customer thinks.

Stopped quickly to get fuel due to high winds day before Thanksgiving. Fuel was about $4.00/gal and $10 ramp fee for 20min. Line guys efficient, but not very friendly inside.

Stopped for quick turn fuel 10/11/05. They charged a $10 ramp fee in addition to what I thought were high gas prices for 100LL. Would not recommend these folks due to the $10 ramp fee for a single.

Was disgusted to find that for the privilege of using their hallowed asphalt, I was charged $10, even though I bought their expensive fuel. Total time on the ground was less than 20 minutes. This is the last purchase I will make there until the fee is no longer in place, barring an emergency.

Purchsed 100LL from Tri Cities Aviation on Sept. 22. Was surprised at the radical increase in fuel costs. They now have a ten dollar ramp fee for singles, twenty dollar fee for twins or larger-this per the gal at the counter. I was on a corporate ramp so am attempting to get my ten bucks back.

Stopped there on August 21st. Went to get my camping spot for the next weekend at a local campground. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Since it was only a 1 hr flight I did not buy gas but no charges. Had a nice conversation with the counter gal. Would go back, no problem!

I dropped a passenger off on Wednesday afternoon, August 17, 2005. When I went to restart my BE55 Baron the right starter would not turn the engine over. I ask the front desk about a mechanic and she directed me to Mike Lloyd the director of maintenance. He quicky checked the connections and determined they were fine. He had a mechanic pull the starter and bench test it and found it had shorted internally. He did not have a starter but ordered one and had it on the next day. The price was about what I would have paid my home airport mechanic and the service was exceptional. It appears they have a very good shop there and made sure everything was taken care of. When I picked the plane up on Saturday, Mike came out to the plane to make sure I was satisfied and to see if I needed anything else. Thanks to Mike and your staff.

When calling about hotels during race weekend, I received a rather inconsiderate and uncaring response from the woman who answered the phone. Ordinarily, this is a nice FBO.

Very friendly and efficient line personnel. One office lady was a bit icy, but overall a very positive experience. Lounge area was spotless and not the least bit smoky, so some positive changes there. $20/night parking seems excessive, even with $200 fuel purchase.
