This facility is COMPLETELY under construction. Maybe my opinion will change when it is done, but who renovates an OPERATING business ALL AT ONCE! There is nothing, I mean nothing, here. Every room is gutted. No kitchen, no TV, no refrigerator, no vending, no quiet room, no weather room, no computer room. No doors, no windows. Nothing. I know that is hard to believe but true. There IS however, a "pilot lounge" open on the second floor. Said lounge has two chairs, a non-functioning television, and dust EVERYWHERE, an open ceiling with wires, insulation and drop ceiling tiles not there. It looks like a war zone. Spent 8 hours there waiting on a passenger. Crew car is a van.... A 10 passenger (or more) VAN! To the owners: Please visit any reputable FBO anywhere and see how it's supposed to be done. Given the choice (it is the only FBO on the field) I'd advise my company and passengers to go elsewhere. I have seen better facilities in third world nations. Seriously.

Stopped in today -- loaned me the crew car for a quick lunch -- thanks for that! Topped off -- ready to go -- starter problem on the Cardinal! Mike fixed it -- no charge! Thanks Mike. Will come back...

I arrived at TRI at 11:45 PM one evening. I called the FBO earlier that day and let them know of my intentions. I told them I would be coming in after hours and that I did not need anyone to stay and that I would use their walk through gate. I told them they could top me off and place me on tiedown when they arrived to work the next morning. I stayed three nights and on the day of my departure I arrived and found out my aircraft had not been serviced as requested. This was not a big deal so I asked them to top it off. I waited in their FBO while the lady behind the counter called for the line personnel to service my aircraft. No one seemed to be working that day and it took her 30 minutes just to locate someone. So after arriving at the FBO I waited 45 minutes for my plane to be serviced, which was, suppose to have already been done before my arrival. For an airport under the class "C" designation this FBO was far from professional.

A fun and professional FBO. Easy access at a towered airport. Great service with a smile. Definitely an excellent stopover for fuel or an over-night. The kind of place I will come to again and again.

Above and beyond the call of duty!!! I stopped due to poor weather, hangared my aircraft for severe thunderstorms and when I returned, they had my Bonanza in the maintenance hangar to remove two birds' nests from the engine compartment acquired in a day. They spent almost half an hour and cleaned it up like new. No charge. I am impressed!!!

I flew into TRI and as I was taxiing to the ramp I saw 3 or 4 linemen, none of which marshalled me in. I waited for them to give me directions to park my aircraft but it seemed like mass confusion on the ramp and it was not busy at all. I also called 15 mins prior to landing to have the rental car ready on the ramp and of course it wasn’t. Someone at Tri-City needs to get their act together and learn how to run an FBO.

I flew in one Thursday night and had a flat. The linemen were great and tried their best to help. They said that it would be $100 services call for the mechanic to come onsite to fix the tire so we rented a car and drove onto Greeneville. We went back up there the next morning and they didn't even tell me how much the tire was going to be and they charged me 312.00 for a 160.00 tire. My total bill was over 600.00. Needless to say I about had a heart attack and will never ever fly back into Tri-Cities again..

Stopped while on IFR long x-country with my instructor and my wife. The line crew was prompt and helpful. The lady behind the counter was top notch; even let us use the crew car for lunch. Thanks for a great experience. Can't wait to come back.

My wife, son, and I flew an Archer III to TRI on Thanksgiving morning 11/26 from southern Florida. We stopped at Tri-City Aviation, were met promptly, parked, and assisted with our luggage. They allowed a friend to drive to the plane to load the car. They waived the first day of parking ($20/day) for purchasing fuel of any amount. We called 30 minutes before we returned on Sunday 11/29 so they could pull the plane out and have it ready. We drove to the plane, loaded it, paid the fuel & parking bill, checked the Wx & NOTAMs on their computer, and left without any problem. All the people there were friendly to us, and very accommodating. The facilities & restrooms were nice and clean. I did the research and called before going there and found their prices to be consistent with others in the area. I also advised them of my ETA & plans, so maybe that helped. My experience was a good one, and I will be returning there at least once every 3 months.

I have been disappointed here in the past, but based on my last overnight trip there in early November, they seem to have gotten the message. Line staff was very attentive and friendly. Desk staff was great. Very helpful. I'll be back.

I WON'T STOP AT TRI-CITY AVIATION AGAIN. I needed an overnight hangar for my experimental A/C (19' wingspan, 4' high at tail. Fit under a C-172 wing). Quoted $50. Directed to speak to Ms. Pam Phillips, owner, for relief. She refused. "We treat everyone the SAME." Don't mistake that for EQUAL OR FAIR. She then told me "winter rates" in effect. New rate $100. It's 70-Deg outside. NO THANKS; I'm a private pilot not a corporation. BLATANT GREED & EXPLOITATION. P.S. Line and counter staff is GREAT!!

Landed Friday. Flight line personnel seemed nice. Asked them to top me off and then I would make a quick 40 min. trip, and top it off again for Sunday to go home. Arrived Sunday, Nice lady said it still was not topped off. We waited 45 mins for them to tell me it only took one gallon. I assumed they must have topped it off Friday night late. Was shuttled to our aircraft. Found Rt. Outboard tank cap lifted straight up. Never tightened. Inboard tanks were low, they said I would have to taxi to the other side so they would not have to check out a radio for the fuel truck. Took another 20.2 gal. To fill up. I noticed by the marks in the dirt, that my aircraft had been backed up to far and had went off the edge of the asphalt (substantial drop off) I had the landing gear checked by mechanic when I got home just in case gear was tugged to hard pulling it back on the flight line. Disappointed. Garry Hewes KHHG N7248Y

Flew there yesterday and I'll be back. Friendly service, reasonable fuel and no "landing fee". Used the crew van for an hour and returned to Mint Hill, NC. Looks like someone read the other comments here and did something about it.

This is still one of the weakest FBOs that we visit. For the longest time there was no public computer. There is still no public printer. Catering is sketchy at best. And they do not provide newspapers. They are happy to let you go to the terminal and buy them from the machine. Really? Every other FBO provides a stack of papers, no charge. These guys charged us for going and getting them. No big deal. With a 1000-gallon fuel order, this ought not be an issue. We don't mind the ramp fees. 10.00 (50.00 I think for a jet), that's less than a drop in the bucket. We don't mind paying, but do expect first-rate service. The management should drive to AVL or CLT and watch how they operate and what they provide, and how they interact with their customers. They would know what we expect when we roll up in a corporate jet and give a several thousand-dollar fuel order. They seem like really good people. They just don't seem to get what corporate aviation expectations are.

I diverted to TRI due to weather and did not have time to assess on AirNav as I usually do. For the most part my experience was VERY different than most of the posts I have since read. The fuel is not the cheapest, but did not pay any extra fees and the line and counter were polite and attentive. Not sure if there was a management change or just a change of attitude. I would recommend Tri-City to anyone.
