We stayed 3 nights earlier this month. Overall excellent service. The only two issues I feel one needs to be aware of is that they don't service oxygen and the FBO doesn't open until 7:30 AM, thus a bit difficult to do an early departure (make sure to ask for the gate code to get on the ramp). Otherwise we had a great experience. The airport and surrounding area are absolutely gorgeous. There is a restaurant at the airport, which is excellent and very reasonably priced.

KTVL is one of my favorite destinations, and the great folks at MWA make it like coming home. Save some of the peanut butter-filled pretzels for me!

From Jack Kennedy on 04-Jun-2012

Beautiful spot to land just off the lake and the folks are friendly. Fuel prices are fine but they don't open until 7:30 and don't plan on 7:29. Had an order for fuel but was not completed until I wanted to leave after two days sitting on the ramp. No oxygen.

Second time to TVL, Mt. West ramp guys are great. Taxi off active, continue north past "old" terminal, restaurant and low Mt. West buildings looking for green vested ramp guy to transient parking. Before you get out of the plane, chocks are set and a friendly greeting welcomes you. FBO lounge is clean and pleasant.

Friendly folks, nice facility, great service for my tiny experimental airplane. Will be back!

Flew in on the Sunday after Thanksgiving with family and was greeted by a friendly lineman as I taxied toward the FBO. Staff inside the FBO was also friendly and made several suggestions of things to do/places to eat, etc. Definitely will be coming back!

Mountain West is awesome! Very helpful and friendly. 1st time in and the helpful staff recommended getting a bite at the Flight Deck Restaurant.. It was great "homemade" food. You have to try the clam chowder. I will definitely be back.

Great FBO! Lineman out on ramp to park me the last 3 times I flew in. Friendly desk staff. Called the week before to have an Enterprise car waiting on a Sunday. Line staff pulled out to plane. Hustled to fuel me and the tour helicopter operator at the same time. Found multigrade oil I wanted. Restaurant at terminal was pretty empty but good food.

From Rick Morin on 20-Aug-2011

Made a brief stop at TVL on a pleasure flight. Didn't need fuel or any other services, but Mountain West had a line guy direct me to a great spot in the front row, offer me a free soda and use the facilities. Great, friendly staff, and very helpful.

A new local weather blog that is very helpful to see what current conditions really are at the field...Check it out...

Good service and a nice facility next to a decent restaurant.

From Brett Hopper on 22-Apr-2011

Came in with 2 aircraft and Mountain was very helpful. The ramp was in rough shape but they directed us to a good parking spot. We used Lake Shore Taxi 530-544-3600 to get to the state line as they had a mini van to haul all a people. Mountain west had them waiting for us. Thanks

These guys are awesome. The food at the terminal is great with really nice people. Great location to watch airplanes. Practice your high altitude landings, density altitude and mountain flying.

From Al Sonntag on 07-Sep-2010

These guys are great, fuel is reasonable and the lounge is first class. The restaurant has great food and live music on some Saturdays and Sundays. Great flying destination.

Flew in on August 11th, and got the same great service as the previous comment. They still don't have a crew car, but they do have crew bikes. Our party of four rode the free bikes into town for brunch and had a great time.

From Inger Fahmi on 27-Jun-2010

Stopped by on 6-27-10 for lunch at the newly opened cafe in the new terminal building. The friendly folks from Golden West met us, marshaled us in, and even pushed the plane back into the tiedown spot for us. Fueling was quick and prompt. I only wish they had a crew car available -- even a beater -- so pilots could avoid the $50 roundtrip cab ride into town. But if you're only flying in for a meal, the new restaurant has tasty food, good prices, and a great view. They're open for dinner, too. We'll be back!

From Lawrence C Freer III on 31-May-2010

Overall good service. They marshaled me in and tied the plane down right away. The day before I left I called and asked for an extension cord to be left out to plug in my plane. I arrived a few hours later to plug in and there was no cord. Called the 24 hour service line and the person apologized and promised to plug the plane in at 7 AM. When I arrived the next morning at 9 AM, the plane was still not plugged in. I mentioned it to the young man at the desk and he apologized.

From Mark Huntley on 23-May-2010

Very nice service. We stopped in with our Beechjet and received great service and support. The cab ride to/from town was $20. No crew car. Oh, and yes there was landing and handling fees for us...:-(
