Was there this weekend; went like a dream, line guy had me tied down in 5 mins; they had rental (Hertz) ready and we were on our way in no time. Bought 10 gals $49.50 and $10 per night tie-down fee. Recommended!

From Vladimir Klyaznika on 21-Jul-2009
Also stopped by on July 19 simply - best FBO experience ever.

From Mark Donnelly on 20-Jul-2009
I've always found the crew at Mountain West to be real friendly and service oriented. I stopped by on July 19, which happened to be the last day of the big celebrity pro-am golf tournament at Edgewood Golf Club. The GA ramp was packed with jets and limos moving celebs. In spite of all the goings-on, my C-206 was promptly greeted by Mike and two young helpers who quickly situated us and tied down the aircraft. I left a fuel order, which I feared might be forgotten in all the action. However, when I returned that evening after hours, I found my plane perfectly fueled and ready to go. Nice!

From Chris Luvara on 02-Feb-2009
I stopped in yesterday at TVL. Line guy greeted me when I pulled up and was super nice and helpful. Definitely one of the better FBO experiences.

From Neil De on 18-Jan-2009
Simply put, every FBO should be like this. Friendly, helpful and with a passion for flying and the people who do. Hats off to Michael.

From Ken Okin on 13-Jan-2009
Was there over New Years. Nice, friendly people. The owner is proud of his establishment and showed us around while we were preheating. *GREAT* cappuccino machine!

From Robert Whirley on 07-Jan-2009
We departed on a busy Sunday of New Years' weekend. Mountain West had the preheater on our airplane within 10 minutes of our arrival at the airport. They were helpful with loading baggage and removing the last bits of frost remaining on the wings. When we had a mechanical problem, they were very helpful in getting us back into a rental car and on our way. I can recommend Mountain West without hesitation if you are heading to Lake Tahoe.

From Adam Steffes on 28-Oct-2008
The line folks at Mountain West are very friendly and helpful. I inquired about supplies to clean the windscreen and they got out a ladder, mitt and cleaning product, generously taking care of it for me. Beware, the on-field restaurant closes early in the day.

From Per Faldborg Olesen on 14-Oct-2008
Called Mountain West a few hours before arriving on October the 7th to have a rental car ready for us. Almost before we had the engine shut down the car was at the aircraft side and the staff helped with the baggage. Paid only the 10-dollar parking fee but got an outstanding service. Had no problems with landing and taking off on the taxiway, which was clearly marked. Others hadn't read the Notams about the runway closure, which created some confusion in the traffic pattern.

From Dan Miller on 04-Oct-2008
Very pleased with the service and support from Mountain West Aviation. I spent a beautiful 4 days up in Tahoe with my wife. A little surprised that flight service told me that the runway was closed. The briefer didn't know if that meant that the airport was closed. But after calling the FBO, I was told that they are using the taxiway as a runway. Rental car transaction was smooth as well. Thanks for great service.

From Gregg Beaty on 30-Sep-2008
I visited TVL in our Twinstar with my wife and can report all of the positive comments about the Mountain West service and staff are true. Our car was brought out to the plane and the lineman helped me get secured and on my way. Same service on departure Sunday. The facility is very nice and the staff professional. I would use them again without reservation.

From Suzanne Wyatt on 06-Sep-2008
The whole staff is wonderful. I met the owner prior to departure. He is a savvy business owner, focused on customer service. They can also get deals on local hotels for pilots who call in advance.

From Dave Viglierchio on 20-Aug-2008
It's a pleasure to have a bunch of great people in South Shore again. Great service, popcorn and helpful line staff. Good job guys and gals - Thank you!

From William Topken on 25-Jul-2008
A special thank you to Kathy Gontang at the counter. As would be expected, she is very courteous and helpful, answered all my questions with a smile, and made arrangements to provide me with a car for a short period of time to pick my son up from the 4H camp. But, when my son inadvertently left some medication in the car, which we did not discover until after flying back to Fallon, Kathy went above and beyond just being a helpful counter person. She retrieved the lost medication the next day, Sunday; then on Monday (her day off, I believe) she took time from her day to go to the post office and mail the medication to us. We received it on Wednesday. Thank you Kathy. It is nice to know there are people like you in this world. Mountain West Aviation is very fortunate to have Kathy Gontang as their representative, and I am looking forward to flying into Lake Tahoe again. Wow. It is hard to beat this FBO. Friendly, accommodating, we made us of the lovely facilities, munched on popcorn and had a cold bottle of water. The staff is helpful and friendly. I have to say the service matched the beauty of the Lake. Thank you. Vintage Mooney Group participant

From Ed Shreffler on 19-Jun-2008
I just have to top Phil Corman, both physically on the page, and literally. After all, he is my Mooney brother. He said we had a fly in to TVL. He did not mention who 'we' are. We are the Vintage Mooney Group, based in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah. Phil says they handled 78 planes. He is correct, but in all truth, they carefully handled 78 Mooney’s. Michael Golden, Joel, and his team get at least five stars. We all had a blast that weekend. I will be back very soon. In a week or two I will post my story about my last weekend's trip to KTVL on our Mooney Events website.

From Phil Corman on 15-Jun-2008
We had a fly-in to TVL, and let me tell you, if you haven't been to TVL lately, stop by Mountain West Aviation. Michael Golden and his team are 5-star. They handled 78 planes and 175 people, each one with professionalism, courtesy, and hospitality. They have to be one of the top FBO's in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

From Pierce Weir on 08-Jun-2008
When I arrived at TVL on Monday June 2, 2008 I was met by Gretchen who was waving her arms and leading us to a tie down spot. She asked if she could help tie my plane down. Then she went and drove our rental car right next to our plane. When I entered the FBO office, Adele handled the rental car paperwork in less than 5 minutes. She got us a crew rate from Hertz, $35 a day! When we returned 4 days later, they handled the rental paperwork within another 5 minutes. The office was very neat and bathrooms clean. As we were leaving for or plane they gave us a bottle of water. They also provided fruit, candy and popcorn for their visitors. To say the least this group at Mountain View West FBO does an excellent job.

From David Frankel on 02-Jun-2008
All the members of the Mountain West crew seem to have a great attitude, hustling out to help with parking and tie-down, and asking what else they can do to help. Be sure to get your fuel order recorded at the desk inside when you arrive, or you'll have them scrambling at departure time.

From Earl Werner on 08-Mar-2008
Glad to see that TVL once again has a functional FBO. Very good service and reasonable Jet A price. Haven't seen so much traffic @ TVL on an off-season weekday (Fri Mar 7) in years.

From Knute Ream on 07-Mar-2008
Dropped by as a pitstop on a cross-country flight- great service! Facilities are clean & welcoming, and staff is very friendly. I wish more FBOs were like this...

From Roger Turner on 10-Feb-2008
This FBO is first class, the pilot’s lounge is sensational and the staff is friendly, fueling at KTVL is always a pleasure.

From Terry Norbraten on 10-Feb-2008
My first time into TVL, so, I called the nice folks at Mountain West to get an airfield report. A cheerful gal named Adelle was very helpful in letting me know the field conditions, answered a few questions, took my A/C number down and looked forward to seeing our arrival. Upon taxing in, a ramp person was immediately available to help with anything we needed. Great first time in TVL thanks to Mountain West Aviation!

From Janet Lowe on 09-Feb-2008
As a student pilot, it's a relief to have friendly and helpful services at South Lake Tahoe Airport. Not to mention the best espresso/coffee around!

From Todd Lowe on 23-Jan-2008
All my helicopter flight training is at South Lake Tahoe. So I spend much time at the airport. Claudio (who BTW is a great flight instructor) uses Mountain West extensively to support his helicopter operations. The staff is always cheerful, responsive and even proactive to make sure all aviators get the service they need.

From Claudio Bellotto on 21-Jan-2008
Wow. And I mean WOW! I operate a helicopter company out of TVL; I get fuel and services from Mountain Aviat. Every day several times a day, and I tell you folks, the staff is super nice, friendly and utterly professional. What a major change since Trajen! Those days are gone, new owner, lower prices and a nice smile always available. Plus, no more ramp fees... Fly in, come by and experience the profound change that has taken place here at TVL, I know it first hand! Claudio, HeliTahoe.

From Chris McClernon on 21-Jan-2008
Without exception every single one of the staff, from manager down to the ground techs, were amazing at Mountain West. My aircraft broke down at TVL and the red carpet was rolled out for the lowly Musketeer owner (me), to the Citation drivers, and everyone in-between. This is a top-notch FBO with friendly service as its mainstay. Breaking down is an awful experience... But I cannot think of a better place for it to happen. Thanks, Mountain West!

From Dave Viglierchio on 23-Dec-2007
As they say in the movies, "there's a new Sheriff in town" and we can be glad. Michael Golden and his group from Truckee now run the FBO at South Shore and I had the opportunity to sample their fine service this weekend. They have a nice facility, friendly and helpful staff, no annoying fees and reasonable fuel prices. Will be visiting much more often now. Thank you Michael!
