Back again to Nut Tree Airport. We walked to the overpass to get to Sam's Club and the outlet stores to do a little shopping. As per my comments before, Lots of places to eat on both sides of the freeway. Self fuel 100LL was $5.23 a gallon. Also free drinking water at the fuel island.

An addition to my earlier review: On another recent visit (for the cheapest avgas we could find), we discovered the Nut Tree pilot's lounge. It's brand-new, spic and span, with a large flat screen TV, comfy couches, and vending machines. Access is through a code lock (the AWOS code.) I've never been weathered in at Nut Tree, but if I were, this would be a pretty decent place to spend some time. Kudos to the airport management for the pilot's lounge -- and the low fuel prices!

Nut Tree had the cheapest fuel around ($4.89 for 100LL) on 1-6-2013. The fuel pumps are in good condition, and we just did a quick stop. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. We'll be back!

Only a 5-minute walk to many restaurants and shopping at the previous Nut Tree Restaurant location. Look for the 12 hangars on the northwest side of the airport then follow the white post path over the creek to the Nut Tree Plaza. Nut Tree Plaza restaurants include Panera Bread, Five Guys Burgers, Fentons Creamery (includes sit down restaurant), Rubios, Amicis, Spice Thai Kitchen, Villa Carbona, Cheese Steak Shop, L & L Hawaiian, Peet's Coffee, and Subway. There are retail stores and a carousel and kiddie train at the Nut Tree Plaza also. Located directly across the freeway are the outlet stores, which is about a 10-minute walk from Nut Tree Village.
