Nice enough place. The Unicom operator actually answered my radio calls, unlike many other places. Pilot room was not fancy but comfortable and there is a computer to check weather. The staff helped us find a hotel at a good price that would pick up. I'll be back.

We flew into WMC halfway through a long flight to re-fuel and have lunch. We were surprised to learn that they no longer have courtesy cars. Our only choices were to buy from their small selection of frozen foods, pay $20 each way for a taxi, or pay $60 for a full day rental even though we only needed it for a couple of hours. We opted to pay for the taxi. They have also added a $5 landing fee even for those buying fuel. All-in-all, not somewhere we are likely to stop at again, unless they institute an hourly rental-car rate.Response from Buster High, Owner, Winnemucca Air Service Liz Chalmers KWMC does not have a landing fee. I am sorry that you had a bad experience.

After landing on the taxiway because there was no runway favoring the wind, we taxied in and Buster was there to meet us with fuel and a hamburger w/potato salad. The FBO and cars are clean, they have fair fuel prices and the staff is at your service no matter what you're flying. Recommend to any craft, big or small.

I spent an afternoon here waiting for weather. Winnemucca Air Service has a comfortable lounge with a TV, couches, and an Internet connection. The staff was prompt and very friendly. They let me borrow their courtesy car to go into town. Overall an excellent FBO with fair fuel prices.

Stopped for fuel 3/17/2010 and fuel and lodging 3/22/2010. Randy may be gone but new owners are just as friendly and accommodating. We called to tell them we'd be arriving after 5 so keys were left in courtesy van for us. Computer available for DUATS, etc. Ask for specific directions from airport to Winnemucca on I80 or you'll end up on the back road to town (not fun at night in blowing dust). Mountains surround so be prepared to circle-climb or go down the valley.

Stopped in for refueling as a halfway point between Phoenix & Seattle. Buster and staff are extremely accommodating. Reasonable fuel prices. Very clean and well stocked FBO and pilot lounge. Very generous with their crew car to get to town for a quick bite and perhaps drop some coins in the slot machine. My wife bought a Winnemucca baseball style cap with room for her ponytail. Would definitely stop in again. Try Dos Amigos Mexican restaurant in the Holiday Inn Express for outstanding fajitas and a superb waitress named Jasmine.

Great FBO. Came in, in rough weather for a quick turn and instead decided to spend the night. Had us set up with the courtesy car and a great hotel in a few minutes. Very friendly service and extremely helpful.
