Children's Flight of Hope, a non-profit, charitable flight service for children in need of medical care arrived at KYIP on a quiet Sunday afternoon to bring a child to the U. Of Michigan hospital. The facilities were fine; the fuel price was reasonable with a thoughtful accommodation to our mission, but most important to us the staff at Active Aero was helpful to our family in a most genuine way.

Great stop and overnight. Park right near the door. Kelly was great help with a cab. I used the self-serve fuel right around the corner but they can pump too. Don't let the hoard of older airliners and huge ramp intimidate you. They operate a major charter operation on the weekends. Judging from the pictures on the wall -- major college football couldn't happen without them!

We hosted a fly-in at Active Aero's facility and they were very professional and easy to work with. I deliver airplanes for a living and have an opportunity to visit many FBOs across the Country and Active Aero definitely is a first class operation. Thanks to Tom and his crew for taking such good care of us!!

Recently I flew into YIP in my Twin Commander, and was very happy that my rental car was at my airplane before I could get out of the cabin. This is a first class operation, and everything is prompt (good for us impatient types), at a reasonable price, and the people are good. I would highly recommend them.

This weekend we attended the Twin Commander Flight Group Fly-In, which was hosted at Active Aero. AA - which includes Tom, Jake, Ron, and Kelly were all great to our group. This is the FBO to use when flying into Willow Run.

My wife and I made our annual trip to see her family in the Detroit area in our 182. We've kept the plane at Active Aero the past two years and I've posted glowing results both years wondering how it could get any better. I've never had an FBO treat me better than here. A ramp person was there to direct me in, (next to a Lear) and I didn't even have the engine shut down before the rental car was there. During our stay a healthy storm went through in the middle of the night. I went out the next day to find that they had towed it in the hangar when they suspected foul weather. No call and no extra charge. And.... They're the cheapest fuel on the field. I get treated like that in a 182... You've got to try Active Aero! I'll be back next year!

Landed at Active Aero in a Lear 35. Didn't know what to expect because the main reason for landing there was significantly cheaper fuel. We were pleasantly surprised and treated very well. If I ever have to go back to this area, I will return to Active Aero.

Arrived 11-7-10 in Lear 40. Service throughout was prompt, courteous, and professional. The standout performance was made by the CSR, Kelly, when questioning our car rental bill. She called the car rental agency for us and quickly had the problem resolved. When flying into YIP, Active Aero is the only choice.

I called to check on ramp prices. They really don't offer tiedowns. I saw in the reviews that someone said they cost $25. I just called and ramp space is free and their SS fuel is a good deal. Good thing as I'll be there 8 nights. I was there last year and was treated like family.

I flew in on 6/7/2010 for some business meetings. I have an A-36. Tom on the line treated my passenger and me like we had just arrived on a jet. The allowed me to use one of their conference rooms for my meetings which worked out great. It was very clean and a professional atmosphere but with the friendliness of a hometown FBO. I will definitely be back.

We picked Active Aero Service due to on-site Avis. A.A. phone person said no problem with car as they close at 6:00PM. Arrived at 5:45. No Avis. No car. Also asked about ramp/tie down fees. Was told none for our C170B. When we arrived at 10:30 Sunday AM, we waited over 20 mins. Before someone made an appearance in the FBO lobby. Then when paying the fuel bill, the man asked if we were told about the $25/night tie down fee (three nights, $75). When our response was "negative", he agreed to waive the "fee" and grumbled that somebody was supposed to have told us. BTW, there are no tie downs on the hard surface. The remote grass area was fine, but we had to supply our own tie downs. The big positive was the man that met us on the ramp when we initially arrived. He went out of his way to treat us like King/Queen and even drove us to Avis at DTW Metro to get a car. We were happy to tip him very well! Nice people, but didn't seems to have their act together for small aircraft.

First time visiting KYIP and I decide to use Active Aero because of the good recommendations posted here. It was a good choice; prompt, friendly, clean, etc. On-site AVIS was especially easy to work with even though I arrived after they closed.

Best I have ever been treated at an FBO, anywhere! I hate to use the term but I really felt "pampered". Rental car was waiting and running, lineman holding an umbrella for my wife and I in rain. I didn't even have to go into the FBO for paperwork. Everything taken care of and off we went. Very customer focus and friendly. Exceeded my expectations. 5 stars!!

We went to see my wife's family nearby and I left my Cessna TR182 at Active Aero for 9 days. I was in and out all week long with flying excursions with her family. It was a different experience at Active Aero. Imagine you have a family with a personal FBO. That's the kind of service I got. They do mostly charters – (BIG charters like DC-9s). I came popping along in my Skylane and you'd think I landed in a G-IV. Super friendly service! They filled my O2 and actually knew what they were doing. They have self serve that is a bunch less than anyone else on the field. While the front desk isn't manned 24-7 a simple phone call brings someone with a smile for whatever you need. I’ll be back!

Flew to YIP on July 4 with my wife to visit a friend in Ann Arbor - service from Active Aero was fantastic even though it was a holiday. Facilities are excellent, rental car was waiting, and plane was ready to go when we finished our visit a few hours later. I would highly recommend this FBO to anyone flying to the Detroit area.

A 'best' place for fuel price and customer service. We stopped today in our N900NE Turbo Commander. Overnight and inside hangar. Very friendly, efficient staffing here and we sure will be back when trips into this area allow a stop.

Great people. New upgrades worth a look. Best fuel prices on field and they really know planes from charter and fleet operations. Great alternative to high prices at KDTW and only 10 minute drive.
