Dropped off a passenger yesterday- nice facility and prompt service.

Made an unplanned stop here on a Sunday with an airsick passenger. The FBO is actually closed on Sunday this time of year, but the Manager was inside doing paperwork and was friendly and happy to take care of us anyway. He loaned us the crew car (an old police car), found us a hotel just in case, and made us feel welcome. We had an early dinner at the restaurant within sight of the airport (Nellie’s?) and it was basic but good. Will definitely be back if nothing else just for a fuel stop. FBO is a nice clean, and comfortable facility.

Landed about 10:20am in a single piston to pick up two people at 11:00am. The linesman parked me and asked if I needed any services. I did not need anything and the two of us walked inside the FBO. It is a nice facility with a crew lounge and weather station. I waited and sure enough around 11:10am my passengers showed up and I helped them with their luggage. But as I was heading out of the door the linesman stopped me and said I needed to pay a $15.00 ramp fee. My response was, "Right now?" He said his boss just told him that I owed a ramp fee. So as my passengers waited I paid the $15.00. What troubles me is the fact I was waiting there for 40 minutes and nobody ever mentioned a ramp fee to me. Also the fact the linesman just learned of a ramp fee worries me too, sounded like a scam. I will not go back to LNP and not recommend anyone else to fly to LNP. VJI is just to the southeast and the people there are much nicer.
