Nice quiet airport. Beautiful lake views flying in. Came in for our anniversary...Lunch at Patti's Iron Kettle restaurant. We found out we should have made reservations...They average 1700-2000 people on Saturdays. They had openings available at Mr. Billís, which shares the kitchen with Patti's and has the same menu, service and decor. (But there is a big airplane hanging from the ceiling at Mr. Bill's.) We used the courtesy phone and requested a ride. The van showed up in less than 10 minutes. Restaurant was awesome and was fun walking around the settlement. This is definitely a place we will visit again.

Stopped in February 20th for a rest and to tour the lake. The runway was recently painted and the numbers are now 10 and 28. Airport signs not changed yet and AirNav/Foreflight still show 09/27.

Great airport to fly into if you are looking for a nice meal at either Pattis or Kentucky Dam Village State Park.

Flew in on Friday morning. Landing runway 27 you are over Kentucky Lake on base and final. Amazing views of the Lake and Dam. Unattended but peaceful. I was the only plane there. Lots of plane parking. Actually went out and helped a turtle that was crossing the runway. Freshly mowed. Basic public restrooms on side of building. A little sitting area inside building is about it. There was a courtesy phone (Don't know if it worked.). Great Ting cell service. (Sprint)

Really nice little unmanned airport. Both Patties restaurant and the State Park Lodge will pick up and return to airport. Again, it is a very nice little airport but no services on field. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained by the state park on my visit. Also I am told Green Turtle Bay Resort as well as other resorts in the area will pick up and deliver but it was unclear if there was a reservation fee, or a tip required, you should call them and asks before you come. I also noticed that there was excellent cellular service at this airport. No trouble getting my phone to work. Data loaded fast. Anyway, good tiedowns, mowed grass, clean airport right on Kentucky Lake. Friendly people in this area. Nice lake and lots of good fishing and other sports.

Simple quiet airport (no services). Good for a quick stop to use the restroom and check the weather. Very nice that the state takes care of it!
