Flew in to buy gas on a Saturday morning. Nobody around at the FBO. Called the number on the door and a fellow called me right back and was there in about 15 minutes. Gave a 4% fuel discount (18 cents which he rounded to 20 cents a gallon) if I paid cash, which I did.

We planned a fuel stop at Malvern on a Saturday en route to Texas. Folks were hanging around waiting for a friend or family member who was making a tandem jump with an instructor. Nice folks, but nobody was associated with the FBO. They told me I could fuel up and when the jump pilot got down I could pay him. We got to watch the (helmet) video of the jump, and we got low priced fuel, so all in all I guess we were satisfied. :)

In addition, anytime I have needed somthing done to my airplane all that I needed to do is call James and he has always been willing to; fill it up, give advice, and even collect equipment that I had forgotten to get out. So, if you call with no answer he is most likly out tending to the airport and the customers. Just give a few minutes and place your call again.

Mr. Burks has always been a great help to my passengers and me. He is always willing to help line up a hotel room, or give pointers on how to get around town. He also carries Mo Gas, which is all but impossible to find anymore. This, plus a nice fuel price, always makes M78 a pit stop for me.

I've used Malvern Airport for around 5 years as a stop over on my way South West. I find James (Burks Aviation - the FBO) to be very helpful when it comes to local information (i.e. good places to eat, etc.). He tries to keep his fuel prices at least 10 cents per gallon lower than any other airport in the area. Great place to stop!

I have used Burks Aviation for about seven years now. I find them to be a reputable and professional outfit and have never had a problem. They have always had fuel, however, when a business is as popular as they seem to be, then it is not surprising that on occasion they might run out for a very short period. I highly recommend this airport and always include it in my flight plan.

No price update since April. I tried to call today, 9-27-05, for current prices and was unable to get anyone to answer. Scratched this FBO off my flt planning list for my upcoming trip. Lyle Prouse
