We stopped for lunch/refueling at Petaluma Airport. After lunch we tried to start the plane but it wouldn't turn over. After trying to fix the problem, I had Mangon Aircraft take a look. Within a few minutes Ron Mangon found the problem and fixed it. I have only been a pilot for a few years, but the one thing that has become obvious to me is that on any large airfield there is more than one FBO that considers themselves competent. But if you look closely, maybe only one of those operators has several employees working on several high value a/c. The Mangon mechanics wear uniforms and work in a very organized environment. They have a well-stocked inventory and database, which results in an extremely professional hangar. Mangon Aircraft is the only place to go when precision is needed. Having the work done right will save time and money, of that I am positive.

I arrived at Petaluma on Thursday evening with an electrical failure in my Cessna 182, and had to return home on Sunday. Called Mangon Friday morning, and they took my plane in right away. The shop is clean and Walt and his staff were friendly and professional. They went out of their way to repair my alternator and had the plane ready that afternoon. Kudos to Mangon for a job well done!
