Great folks, very friendly and excellent service, but why are their fuel prices SO HIGH? I've got a feeling they'd pump a lot more gas if they were more in line with other airports in the area.

Good food and great service at the airport cafe! FBO downstairs has no WX computer, but otherwise a nice little airport.

A cute little airport, and a great place to take your dog if your dog flies with you. There's a dog park literally right next to the transient tiedown spots. Sadly, the Airpark Cafe is closed, but we walked about 5 to 10 minutes west along the main road and found a shopping center with multiple restaurants. Check your POH -- the runway is 2400' long and on very hot days the density altitude can get up there.
Response from Joanna Bitner, Hillside Aviation The Airpark Cafe is open.

We were in Redding on vacation visiting friends and rented a Skyhawk from Hillside for a short sight seeing flight. Billy, one of Hillsides instructors was very pleasant and helpful during the checkout ride. The office staff was very friendly on both my initial call for information and my follow-up call upon arriving in Redding. They did not let me down when we arrived either. A very pleasing experience. Benton field is fairly short, check your density altitude and performance numbers carefully and watch the terrain to the west and north. I would use Hillside again if in the area.
