In Hawaii on vacation and since I read such good comments here about Maui Aviators, I decided to rent one of their 172's to see Maui County, and they certainly did not disappoint. Jon the owner was most helpful with all of the coordination, and our CFII/guide, Tony, was amazing friendly and knowledgeable about all of the local history. We had an amazing flight and saw whales, the volcano, Hana, Molikini and Lanai (where we are staying). These guys do a great job and I would recommend them highly if you are ever in the area and want to see the islands from the air!

I took my wife on her first flight and Maui was the best place to fly! Rick was a fun instructor and provided us with a great tour of the island. I would definitely recommend Maui Aviators, great people, great plane, and again truly the only way to see Maui.

My wife and I flew with Maui Aviators', Tony R. Last week. Tony was a very qualified instructor, the C-172 was in great shape and most importantly, and Tony was a gracious and knowledgeable tour guide. Tony pointed out dozens of sites as we cruised the area around Maui and neighboring islands. Make sure the memory card is empty - you're going to be snapping dozens of pictures! I highly recommend these guys for flightseeing!

The aircraft was in great shape (it was a 2006 C172), and the instructor was very professional. The rental check out begins with a good ground session about special rules and regs, then went to OGG' SOP, then to the a/c for a flight. I was pleased with the aircraft and the rental rate, I wish they had been clearer on the $30/ per hr fuel surcharge, that’s a little too steep for a surcharge, but I will definitely use them again next time in OOG.

I flew with Maui Aviators over the Christmas 09 holiday. What a great and fabulous experience. They are professional and relaxed at the same time. Safety first is their primary goal. We were checked out in their 172 and took a flight of a lifetime around the islands. Highly recommended. Brush up on radio skills is a must before you get there - Class C airspace and a lot of helicopters

Just back from my honeymoon, first stop was Maui Aviators. John (the owner) super nice guy to talk to. Joshua (flight instructor with us) was a real nice guy to fly with. We flew the West Maui mountains, around Molokai, over Lanai and into the Haleakala Crater, touch n go at Hana and back to Kahului. The best flight I've ever had as a CFII. I've been going to Maui for years and saw things in 2 hours I've never seen before. Absolutely amazing. I would recommend these guys and the airplane tour instead of the helicopters any day of the week! These guys deserve your business!

Still the best deal on Maui. I have flown with them 3X - twice in 2008 and again today. More expensive than renting at a mainland FBO, but so is everything else on Maui. Still a far better experience for you than 40 mins in a helo. After a brief checkout (3 touch and gos and local rules) I flew the 5-island tour of Maui County with stops at Hana, Lanai and Molokai. Review your crosswind technique before arriving: OGG can be windy and gusty, be ready to go around if it starts looking hairy. Cessna 172SP worked well each trip - about 2.5 hours total to see all Maui County with stops. My passengers were very impressed - if you can afford it, take them for lunch at the Lodge in Koele on Lana'i or at the Hana Maui hotel in Hana. Always the highlight of my Maui trips - I will be back.

My wife, who is a student pilot, and I, an instrument-rated commercial pilot spent a few days in Maui June 2009. We thought it would be an opportunity for my wife to experience some flying in a different location other than her training base in the San Francisco Bay Area, and for me to get up in the air in a new location. We flew two days, once with Tony Rutherford and another time with Brad Pleski. What an amazing experience! Both CFI's were professional, laid back and made the most of our time in the air. They showed us around the islands while we flew, and made it so we can't wait to return to Maui and fly with them again. If you are going to Maui, bring your certificate along, and schedule yourself for some time with Maui Aviators. The sightseeing is spectacular.... And that road to Hana is easier to follow on the nice Cessna 172SP!
