Great Stop. No need to taxi. East Bound - Just land straight in, pull off midfield and fill-up (with Mogas in my case) then there is still 5000' of runway left to depart eastward. Then I reversed the process westbound a few days later (with a little less runway). Friendly service! Great location for southern route around restricted areas. Easy clearance through Class C from the ground if needed.

Passed thru on April 18, 2008 flying a Starduster Too from MS to Ca. Last time here was 10 years ago and Phil is still the best. Thank you Phil for getting me thru ELP airspace with my radio problem. Purchased gas and oil regardless of the price!!!! The service is what counts!!!

After battling 60kt headwinds, the guys here put 45.5 gallons in my 48-gallon tank. Very friendly and will come again.

Stopped there on the way from PHX eastbound. Nice little airport and great help from Mr. Phil Barrett! Very cheap rental car also available for a quick lunch in town.

My wife and I stopped on the way to Arizona for fuel. Mr. Barrett met us at the pump and pumped the gas while we used the facilities. Great service! He also advised us that if you're headed west, you could call El Paso approach from the ground and get a squawk to transit the class C. They brought us directly over KELP so it made for an easy transition.

Have used Horizon Airport several time and had great service. They have a car you can rent and we have used it every time as we have spent the night every time through. Mr. Barrett moved some of his own airplanes so we could have hangar space as it was going to be a frosty night. We will be back.

XC eastbound over Thanksgiving in a Luscombe. Quick, friendly service, nice facility, good airport. Would stop again. Quick pump service (taxied up and got filled right away). Nice to have the mogas too! Airport has great character.

Nice little rustic TX airport to visit. Phil is very nice and helpful. Sailplane activity is fun to watch. Be mindful of the associated high temps and DA during the summer months. Was 115 degrees, and 7000' DA during this visit (July 2006). Otherwise, a fun, neat place to visit.

If you are looking for a rustic airport with excellent service and high fuel prices, you have found it. I paid $4.85 for 100LL on 10/06. So I would question the $3.70 currently posted.
