Spoke to the owner today. It is still closed, probably forever, as they can't get insurance. And another GA airport gone away...

Drove there on 4-18-09 and the runway is closed indefinitely. Due to the fatal accident in 2007 their insurance would not let them keep the runway open. Call before you go to see if it has been reopened.

Flew in for a late lunch today. The catfish are big. All you can eat for $12. What a deal. They are now in there winter hours, which is Friday-Sunday. The strip is far from flat. If you land to the south it's up hill.

Looks like as of Aug 11th they are back open again. . . Yeah!

From Bill Toy on 14-Aug-2007
The field is open again as of August 11, 2007. The strip has been graded and re-surfaced with a fresh stand of grass and is in very good condition. However, runway lights are not installed yet. The catfish still can't be beat.

NOTAM from March 17: Marietta OK (McGehee Catfish Restaurant) [T40]: March NOTAM #133 issued by McAlester OK [MLC] Runway 17/35 closed effective from March 17th, 2007 at 07:50 PM CDT (0703180050)

Runway plowed and closed per Notam March 18, 2007 following Baron mishap. Possibly the end of an era for such a great place to eat fish!
