Called the airport manager, and I was informed the last minute maintenance concerns should be complete with the airport being open for business shortly. Nice place to land indeed.

Airfield is Notam'd closed. Just spoke to airport mgmt, runway is being resurfaced and ETA on completion is about 2 more weeks (about 20th Nov). Nothing is posted about this on the city of Liberty airport links....

Looking for a quick/cheap refuel along the way, and learned of T78 here in advance so we gave it a try. No frills, but everything you need for a self-serve quick-turn at the best price I've seen in years! Previous comments about the hose length had me concerned, but no problems whatsoever, and yes the port-a-let or woods is all you get but there it is

Stopped into Liberty on 6/13 for the inexpensive gas. Nothing fancy; small-unattended country airport in decent shape. New 24/7 CC reader full pump worked as advertised albeit the hose is a bit short, as others have pointed out. If the gas prices remain the lowest in the area, I will be stopping every time I come to the Houston area! Go for the gas not the porta-john!

I chose Liberty for the great fuel price yesterday during a long cross-country flight. Good runway/taxiways. No problems fueling, though I think approaching the pump nose-first assures an adequate reach for the rather short hose. Port-a-potty for a restroom, and 2 folding chairs in a tool shed next to the port-a-potty make this pretty minimal for passenger relief and briefing room -- But you gotta love that fuel price!

I flew in on a sunday afternoon for fuel. Afterward I could not start my left engine due to low battery. The airport was unattended, I called a phone number on the hangar with not much hope due to a sunday evening. I was wrong because Leslie Wallace came out to the airport to help me and we went to his farm to get the battery charger. All of this in a freezing night. I have offered to monetary compensate but Leslie has declined it. It is maybe a small airport but Leslie's big heart make some big airports seem very little. Thank you again Leslie and I will be back.

Flew in Monday night 10/19/09. Runway lights and VASI are working. Taxiway lights will not be repaired, you don't really need them anyway. Cheapest fuel around, easy access, no traffic.

Airport Manager says the runway lights are operational. Pilot controlled on 122.9. Continues to be the best Self-Serve fuel price in Houston area.

We came in near dusk for gas and found that the runway lights are OTS indef and that cows were on the grass surrounding the runway. If our landing scared them off, they got over it by the time we taxied out again; we had to wait for several to clear the taxiways. Still a good daytime gas stop just needs a new fence.
