Runway is useable, not too rough but could use resurfacing. Fuel pump works but did not provide a receipt. $4.00 per gallon currently. Two tie downs on the small ramp available, county will charge for tie down but only after the 3rd day (did not note the rate but was minimal). Bathroom works--. Phone available but no long distance service. Minimal cell phone coverage in Mason, so with most people having long distance numbers these days the phone does little good. Worked for our mission, which as the previous comments was for a HS tennis tournament.

I flew my little DA-40 in from my home base in Lampasas, KLZZ, for a tennis tournament. Mason hosts many tennis tournaments, which is unique for a small, Texas Hill Country town. Mason is very nice but the airport could use some help. I'm used to non-towered, small town airports in Texas with self serve fuel however, T92 only marginally serviceable. The surface of the runway is really starting to need work and the field doesn't appear to have a high fence, which is a problem in the center of deer hunting country. A trophy whitetail in your prop will mess up your day! I didn't go into the restrooms but my wife stated they were in pretty sad shape. I called the airport manager prior to taking off. The airport manager appears to be the county judge. His secretary was nice but stated there was no crew car available. If you go to Mason you need to look into transportation options or have someone pick you up like I did.
