Stopped in to Buhl on a long trip from Corvallis to Denver in my little Grumman. Since I'm always looking for Mogas I was excited to find it here, but alas after landing was informed that the Mogas is "only for locals with a key." I recommend Buhl for a reasonable Avgas price and friendly people.

Stopped by on 7/21/11 for the cheapest avgas around -- $4.99 for self-serve. (I refused to pay the $7.50/gallon that Atlantic wanted at Sun Valley KSUN.) On a Sunday late afternoon the airport was deserted. The fuel pump worked fine, but the pilot's lounge was locked and a note instructed pilots to call the Buhl police department for access. Fortunately, the bathrooms were unlocked and available. Just don't plan on using the pilot's lounge, courtesy car etc. If you stop by outside weekday business hours. But it's worth stopping here for the cheap avgas!

The airport was nice and friendly with plenty of activity on my recent stop westbound. I was attracted by the fuel prices but needed to go to town for food. I was surprised to see that they (and perhaps all GA airports in Idaho?) have a form for not just checking out the courtesy car, but for assessing a fee. Our six mile RT for food cost $5.
