Note that the Park Service has started a 24 hour restriction on aircraft parked at W95 meaning an overnight/weekend stay is now impossible if you are flying in. The Park Service must really hate the Ocracoke business community. I'm sure the aviation community is not the main source of their business, but why a community would shun any business in this economy is beyond me.

Nice little hotel to stay at. It is a throw back in time. Just a nice room, air conditioning and tv. Nothing more was needed. Called for a ride from the ramp at the airport and they were there in 10 minutes. Once on Ocracoke you can just about walk anywhere in 10-15 minutes. Will take our bikes next time we fly in.

Blackbeard's is a great place to stay especially if you have young children. The front desk clerk (Casey) picked up my two kids, the wife and I immediately after landing. The Minivan was a bit ratty but it served the purpose. The accommodations are clean and a value compared to other lodging on the Island. If you're the kind of person that expects gourmet room service and a concierge in the lobby, this isn't the place for you. Blackbeard's kinda feels like staying at grandma's house. Overall the rooms are nice but a bit dated...Exactly what you'd expect from an Eastern NC beach hotel. They have a nice game room, Bikes with kid friendly attachments for rent and are centrally located on the island. The "Back Porch" restaurant is right across the street and is EXCELLENT. When we go back for another trip we'll definitely stay there again.

Great place, in a building with great character, surrounded by a huge variety of good places to eat. Staff has been very friendly and supportive, Room are clean and plenty of outdoor areas to sit (do not forget mosquito’s repellant but this goes for the whole island). It is not too far to walk to from the airport (we did it!) but you do not need to: they will pick you up and drop you off. Fact is there is no phone at the airport and all but Verizon/Alltel phones won't work on the island. We will be back.

Exceptionally friendly service and low rates. Nice common areas and game room. Rooms about what you would expect for the price, austere and clean. Room to room noise was a little much. Have bikes for rent by hour or day. About halfway between airport and town (1.5 miles to each).
