I can confirm that airplanes are allowed on the ramp longer than 24 hours. My wife and I just enjoyed a wonderful weekend on Ocracoke Island. My RV-7 was parked on the ramp three days/two nights and it wasn't the only one. The 24 hour signs are in the "car" parking lot and obviously apply only to cars. Honestly, I think some people want things to be wrong so they can complain.

Note that the Park Service has started a 24 hour restriction on aircraft parked at W95 meaning an overnight/weekend stay is now impossible if you are flying in. The Park Service must really hate the Ocracoke business community. I'm sure the aviation community is not the main source of their business, but why a community would shun any business in this economy is beyond me.

Nice little hotel to stay at. It is a throw back in time. Just a nice room, air conditioning and tv. Nothing more was needed. Called for a ride from the ramp at the airport and they were there in 10 minutes. Once on Ocracoke you can just about walk anywhere in 10-15 minutes. Will take our bikes next time we fly in.
