Stopped on the way from PNS to HAO a few weeks ago. The self-serve was the cheap and quick. No crew car, but the airport manager drove me to the local Hardees for lunch. Impressive. I'll be back.

Nice airport, pretty quiet and low traffic when there today. Self serve worked fine after figuring that the gas handle needs to be turned on firm. Did not see anyone except a couple people working on their planes. But the FBO door was open and the facilities were clean, will stop again if the opportunity arises.

Great 24 hour facility, have gone out of my way to patronize & will continue to do so as long as they keep their fuel so much cheaper than anyone around...One caveat for those with twins or larger aircraft difficult to hand-push: the fuel pump sits back in a corner by the tanks. If there is a plane parked on the left near the corner of the hangar, and it has been raining a lot, you have to cut the turn fairly sharp to avoid a taxi through the mud on the right.

We Landed at Smithville in order to avoid the high fuel costs in the Nashville area. Wes, the new airport manager came out after hours at 10:00 PM to assist us in a rainstorm. The FBO was old school but more than adequate for our needs. The rest rooms were clean and the weather computer worked fine. We will be back.

Oops! The day after I posted the avgas price of $3.80, it went up to $4.05. Still a bargain!

Had occasion to stop at 0A3 twice this past week, enroute to and from Sun N Fun. Nice airport facility, reasonable price for 100LL. I will definitely stop again anytime I'm in the area.

Stopped in for a visit a few months ago (on a Sunday) and had the left starter go out. Charles McGaughy of Mack Aviation saw me looking at the cowling while he was filling up and asked if I needed some help. After a few squirts of lube and a couple of whacks (tap) with a hammer and I was good to go. Had a couple of the locals wonder over as well with their sage advice. Nice friendly place to stop, gas is cheep and runway is close to Center Hill Lake. No services I could see except for the SS gas.

This little airport is a gem. The fuel prices are as cheap as they get. They have self serve. I needed some maintenance when I stopped in last week and they dropped everything to take care of me and get me on my way. The FBO is called Mack Air.
