Sicily's Steakhouse & Skyroom Lounge is a good place for either lunch or diner. Close Sunday though. 707-263-6310. Good food, friendly, sit and watch the planes land out the window. Might want to make resv for dinner on Fri or Sat. Otherwise might have to wait a while. Give it a try.

The restaurant is open again, though I have no details... -- New phone number for the restaurant, as reported by airport administration, is 707-263-6301.

Still no receipt, although the grounding wire is fixed. Restaurant apparently went out of business a few months ago.

If you use the AOPA credit card to buy fuel so you'll get the rebate, don't count on getting it here. The fuel purchase at the self-service pumps shows up as "Helms Petroleum" and MBNA has repeatedly rejected my requests for the rebate, saying that the merchant does not qualify for it -- despite the fact that this is the only place on the field to buy fuel. This has been happening a lot lately with the AOPA/MBNA card and I no longer think it's such a good deal.

Some advice for fueling at Lampson: The fuel island is located where the restrooms aren't so plan accordingly. The grounding wire clip has been broken for awhile, so creativity is necessary. Have your passenger stand on the fuel hose to keep it from pulling you off the wing while fueling, or if you're solo, take the triangular piece of ribar lying next to the hose reel and jam it so it won't retract. Watch out for the leaky fuel nozzle when you finish fueling. Don't count on getting a reciept, although miracles do happen! Watch out for motorcycles and motorized skateboards while crossing the runway.
