For the decades I've lived and flown in Colorado, I have never found an occasion that R 2601 was NOT hot. I am going to surmise that the IFR limitations referred to in these comments would actually only apply on days that any of the 3 Airburst MOAS were active and I'm guessing this is only an issue when filing IFR on good VFR days. I can find no reference in the AF/D suggesting that essentially true IFR capability doesn't exist.

I picked up AngelFlight passengers at 1V6 on 10/18/19. I got there before the FBO opened, but looked like a very nice facility. The airport is easy to get into VFR. Some turbulence and Mt wave activity approaching the airport but smooth and calm on the ground. Look for skydiving activity here especially on the weekends.
