I used the grass aircraft parking area closest to Bob Lobster (1/3 mile) and used the roadside bikeway/walkway to get there. Inside and outside bench seating.

Terrific airport. Asphalt runway is in good shape and grass runway is available during the warmer months. Flight instruction is available on the field and a rental Cessna 150 will soon be available. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Good restaurants in Newburyport center (about a mile away) and Bob Lobster within walking distance. Potluck lunch is now held the 2nd Sunday of each month. Fuel on the field is through a member cooperative but is usually available to transients (best to call ahead). Day VFR operations only. Fields like this are rare and a visit is not to be missed!

Very inspiring airport to visit. The two runways align with the winds most of the time and are in good condition. The annual supply of Avgas should be delivered by Memorial Day (call first for fuel). Potluck lunch on the 1st Sunday each month, year round. Museum commemorates 1910 Burgess Aircraft activity (call 1st).

Response from Dick Copithorne, Airport Operations, Plum Island Aerodrome Inc.
We have moved our Potluck lunch to the second Sunday of the month, coffee and doughnuts on most weekends.

A beautiful ocean side airport to fly into, unfortunately the runway has a big scar going across the approach end of 28. A silly dispute destroyed this once pristine old airport. Amelia Earhart was rumored to have flown here.

Stopped in by car to check great fuel price. Told that fuel is for members only ($100/season) they have a small tank so it's best to call ahead.
