To update the Runway Information on the Parlin Field page; the markings on 18/36 as well as the taxiway, taxi lanes and back taxiway have been freshly painted.

Just looking at the comments about Parlin and am sorry to say that I haven't written sooner..... We camped there June 30, 2007 and had a most wonderful experience! We chose a spot on the northwest part of the field - near the covered bridge. At a very authentic Mexican meal at the restaurant on the field (Lil' Red Baron) - too full to have ice cream for dessert. Maura and Dean Stetson were such accommodating hosts - not to mention great people!! Did I mention that the (self-serve only) fuel price is low for the area - still is. Yup! a wonderful experience to camp under the wing of your own aircraft!

I just received an email from Dean Stetson, the FBO at 2B3, asking me to relay that there is no 20-gallon limit at Parlin Field.

From Brian H. Corliss on 03-Oct-2007
20-gallon limit? I dunno'. I pumped in 38.4. Everybody seemed happy...

Response from Dean Stetson, Parlin Field
The 20 gallon voluntary limit has been lifted. It was only temporary due to immediate availability of fuel.

A voluntary 20-gallon limit has been imposed on avgas purchases. Crew bicycles, well maintained, are available for transients. Love this place.

The food at Lil' Red Baron, a Mexican restaurant next to the airport is still excellent! We will be back soon.

I had a great stop over. All the comments below are still Valid! Super nice airport manager husband and wife team, good fuel prices, long runway in good shape and a nice grass crosswind runway too. Highly recommend!

Go out of your way to get here. This is the way it's supposed to be. Really nice, friendly people. Beautiful scenery. Nestled in the foothills of the White Mountains. A covered bridge. Mountain streams. Park on the manicured lawns. Fill up with self-serve, inexpensive fuel. Go inside the clean & cozy terminal recently built by volunteer pilots. Walk to the nearby Mexican restaurant. It's all here. I'll be back.

We loved this place so much that we went back again less than a week later! The food Lil' Red Baron is very authentic tasting, made from scratch with fresh ingredients. If you love good Mexican, you won't be disappointed. Dean and Maura Stetson, the airport co-managers at Parlin Field, are also extremely gracious and gas prices are the lowest around. This is a great place to visit!

One of the friendliest airports I've visited in 1,750 hours of flying. I camped at the end of the apparently seldom-used grass strip near the beautiful covered bridge. Ate with a local hangar-flier at a Greek pizza restaurant in the quaint town of Newport (you fly over it on final for 36), and the next morning Maura Stetson (the wife half of the husband-and-wife airport manager team) drove me to an excellent breakfast at the Country Kitchen. A great stopover destination for cheap fuel, camping and hospitality.

This is a nice airport with reasonably priced self serve fuel. The runway is quite long for a small airport and is in good shape. It is very popular with local pilots as a fuel stop. There is a GREAT reasonably priced Mexican restaurant that is within 100 feet of the airport office. It looks like an old house until you go around to the front and see the sign.

Our first field camping experience. Dean and Maura were very helpful even getting us a fire permit and building and stocking a fire pit. We camped next to a covered bridge which crosses the river just off the field. A local reporter stopped by to take pictures of our camp. Maura loaned us her van in the morning to get breakfast. My son wants to go back next weekend!
