I fly into Sportsman regularly and it is always like flying to a friend's house for a visit. One of my favorite stops in the country. There are not many airports like this left.

I flew my Comanche 250 into Sportsman's yesterday from Altus, Oklahoma and I have to say that I was awe-struck with the cozy-comfy atmosphere at this great little airport. Jerry and Lessie are superb hosts and I can't say enough good about this place so far. It's certainly one of the "neatest" airfields I've landed at!

Stopped at 2S6 on trip from CA in my old L-5 and my friends Stinson 108.A beautiful airport. They loaned us their p/u for a trip to a nearby winery (Ponzi-a great place which includes wine tasting and one of the best restaurants I've been to). We put in some gas for their truck. Airports like this don't exist in CA.
