Cross-country from Detroit to Colorado Springs I flight planned this fuel stop. It was great priced fuel and the price was posted just 2 days before. I checked NOTAMS before a 6AM departure and all was well... Until I landed and pulled up to the pump where there was a paper sign taped to the pump saying "No Fuel". It was a busy airport but the airport manager was nowhere to be found. This is negligent on the manager’s part and I wouldn't plan this fuel stop if you haven't spoken to the airport a short time before arrival.
We dropped in for the best fuel price in the region. The printer on the fuel pump didn't work but the restroom was clean. Apparently the fuel pump, fuel terminal and perhaps the fuel tank are scheduled to be replaced soon. Hopefully the great fuel price remains. Runway 31 (grass) was in good condition and utilized due to very strong and gusty westerly winds.
