I support the earlier favorable comments and add warm showers - camping life doesn't get much better!

Great backcountry camping! The runway is in better condition than most peoples' lawns. Camping areas are well kept. Showers are clean. This is the Cadillac of backcountry airstrips. Kudos to Idaho Aeronautics.

Very clean, well maintained and the grass strip looks great. What more other then free gas could a pilot want in a place like Johnson?

The jewel of the backcountry is still in excellent shape. The runway, tiedowns, campsites, and facilities are all in great condition. They even have high-speed wireless Internet on the field now for flight planning and email.

Grass strip looks great. Spot burns in the canyon from the recent fire. Campgrounds very clean and well kept. North camping very loud due to a number of pilots needlessly departing right over the tie downs and camping sites.
