We flew in on Saturday January 7th to get some BBQ. To our surprise the FBO was closed and it was only about 3:15. There was a taxi service number on the door so we called it. The taxi driver told us it would be at least an hour. So we called the two emergency contact numbers that were posted on the door. Neither of them was answered. So we had to end up flying to Brenham to get a bite to eat. I was not happy considering I had been raving to my passenger about Smitty's BBQ and we couldn't even get there.

Flew in on 11/19/11 just to go to Black's BBQ. The gentleman at the FBO was pleasant and helpful. The BBQ patrol suburban was just the ticket. I even offered to gas it up and was politely told not to worry. Great BBQ @ Blacks and M & M was another example of Texas aviation hospitality. Bravo to all.

The self-serve pump is working as of 7/31/2010. Restrooms available 20 yards N-NE of the pump in the little building.

As of last night the self-serve pump was on the fritz. CALL IN ADVANCE if you need fuel. The Martin folks are very friendly and will accommodate you if you will call in advance. They can manually process your credit card but call first to make sure someone at Martin & Martin is there.

We arrived with only an email in the morning as warning. They had a big huge Suburban as a crew car for us and pointed us to the best BBQ in town (Lockhart is known for its BBQ, they have made the national news with their feuds). They don't have WiFi, but they had a weather terminal over in another building. They are having a little trouble getting their bathrooms re-plumbed, but there is a couple in the next building as well. I wish I had written down her name because the woman at the desk was very friendly.

Great airport with terrific people! Stopped by last week for a four-day visit that turned into six due to thunderstorms. Our plane was quickly whisked into a hangar before the approaching storms hit and remained there for two days. Nice to know such friendly folks still exist!
