Boerne Stage Field is a self serve facility and the most conveniently located field of its kind in Texas. 20 minutes from Loop 410, 10 minutes from La Cantera, 15 minutes from Tapatio Springs, and surrounded by some of the finest suburban communities in the region, including new residential lots on the field.B We have internet, wi-fi, showers, bunks, on line weather and all the neat stuff you need to enjoy flying, but we do not have a full time greeter or line boy. The mechanics, a CFI or airport owner will do what they can to help you, but most of the time you'll need to tie down and carry your bags.B You'll need to know where the keys are for the courtesy car if you have it reserved.B Our fuel prices are what they are because we do not have the payroll costs for "red carpet" service.B We do not receive federal funding, either. Our surveys of pilots indicate they would rather have the fuel discount than pay for a "greeter" on the ramp.B Thanks for understanding and not anticipating a rush of people to pamper you on arrival.

Although there is ramp space for maybe 10 aircraft or so, only about 3-4 of those have actual tiedown hardware (bring your own rope), and all of those were being used when I arrived. Fortunately they put me in the hangar since it was a weekend. Tiedown fee was $15 with one night waived for fuel purchase. SS pumps are the only option and they are behind the FBO building. Parts of the taxiway are in bad shape, but the runway isn't too bad. There are no perpendicular taxiways on the south half of the runway, so if you rollout long you'll have to back taxi. I rented the little Yaris courtesy car from the FBO for $25 per day, which is not a bad deal.

Great staff and airport. We were running late and did not arrive until after hours because of weather. The staff made arrangements for us to pick up the courtesy car even though they were not there. We look foward to returning to 5C1.

Pretty Quiet airpark, we brought our C182 in for service at Texas Skyways (Great folks) and used the $25/day car, which was really helpful.
