Wow, what a friendly airport. SS fuel easy to find in front of the FBO and priced correctly on AirNav. Very smooth runway, wish I had that at my home airport. Linemen very helpful. FBO building open during the day. No landing fee, was passing through so didn't check tie down fees.

One of our favorite airports to stop for fuel, food or an overnight.

We arrived late after thunderstorms forced us to delay enroute. No one was at the airport but were able to enter the building because of a key code based on the CTAF. We called the Days Inn and said we'd stay with them if they would give us a ride the 3.5 miles from the airport. The owner himself, Gene Page, came to pick us up. Then he loaned us his own car to go to a local restaurant for dinner. The next morning he showed up bright and early and took us back to the airport. I was extremely impressed and pleased. The room was clean and price was reasonable. Best were the people on the front desk and Mr. Page. Thank you SO very much! The 100 LL price was very good although the SS card reader machine didn't work. We got FS fuel once they opened at 0800. I think the heavy rains had overwhelmed the SS card reader.

Stopped on the way from Northeast Texas to Miami on Friday, great staff, very nice facility, 20 minute wait for release, as the airport was very busy with helicopter operations. Sunday on the way back, great self serve 100LL facilities, very convenient airport, and no delays.

Stopped through for fuel on our way back from Miami to Austin because of the $3.77 self serve price and was treated to some wonderful southern hospitality. Got a ride across the field to the restaurant where we were told that the food was free with our fuel purchase (donations accepted and given). Enjoyed a refreshing meal of chicken sandwiches, homemade chili and cookies as well as drinks for the whole family before loading back up. Everyone we met was very friendly and made us feel right at home. Even apologized that the food options were more limited since it was Christmas week. Wow! Quite impressed even with the high standards set by the aviation community across our country! Recommend this stop for anyone. Great fuel prices, self serve fuel farm, facilities and amazing hospitality!

79J is a first rate airport in excellent condition. FBO people great, fuel prices very competitive and Tabby Ds in Andalusia it exceptional for good southern cooking. Highly recommended.

AWESOME! That one word will sum up our experience there. We stopped there on 5/18 to wait out some nasty weather that was moving it. The stop wasn't by choice but ended up being a great choice after all. Friendly FBO folks, and the restaurant on field is great (and open late -- till midnight).

Competitive fuel prices. Good airport facility. Experienced great southern hospitality on way to Sun n Fun. Gene runs a really tight ship at the Days Inn. He clearly has a lot of pride in the facilities and services. He offered a courtesy shuttle back and forth, including a ride to dinner and back. I wish every stop over were as friendly and hospitable.

Great stop. Friendly staff gave us a lift over to the unique on field self serve buffet restaurant that serves the military helicopter training here. The good home made all you can eat food operates on a donation basis when you buy fuel.

Very nice friendly, helpful staff. Better fuel prices than our home airport. We made 2 trips to 79J in Dec. Looking forward to the next trip in March.
