This is the place to start if learning to fly in the PDX metro area. It is a little out of the way, but as they say; all things are better in the country. Got my private here after shopping all the local flight schools and I received top instruction in well-maintained aircraft. I can truly say that the methodology with which I was taught has allowed me the ability to fly into just about any strip in the PAC N.W. Owners Bob and Betty are the best and they host a great EAA breakfast the first Saturday of every month.

As the previous person said land 02 take-off 20. More of a fair-weather airport. Tall trees at North end.

Bob and Betty are two of the nicest people I've ever met, period! This is GA at it's finest. If I lived in the PacNW this is where I would learn to fly. They treat every person with dignity and respect and provide good, well maintained aircraft that are fun to fly (N2108Y) for reasonable prices. Being from way down south along the Texas coast this flatlander really enjoyed the view of the PacNW. Thanks Bob and Betty for making my trip fantastic!

August 13, 2007. This is the way all airports used to be (as I understand it) and is definitely the way we wish all airports were! Small, nice, family owned. VERY General Aviation. Wonderful people. Good service. Reasonable fuel. Beautiful airport and surrounding area. Can't say enough good about it. One note: Take off on 20 (down hill) and land on 02 (up hill)! And be careful, you can't see the other end of the runway so listen to the radio and pay attention.

A great place to learn to fly! I did my IFR thru Instructor and the instruction was top notch. Most well maintained fleet and lowest prices in the Portland area. Little details made a huge difference too. Their aircraft are well taken care of; all their aircraft are hangared, have GPS and are kept very clean. You would have no reservations about taking a friend or family member up in one, unlike some of the tired old trainers at other flight schools. A family atmosphere where I received individual attention and excellent instruction.

Twin Oaks is everything you look for in a small airfield. Owner (A&P/AI) on-site, wife runs the office, card-lock self-service fuel at very competitive rates, and pilot self-briefing room with Internet access, EAA chapter and hangar, and lots of interesting airplanes. Please note noise abatement in effect,
