Flew in for fuel. Price was $4.209 not $3.82 as published. Pump worked fine for fill-up w/Visa card.

Issue with $50.00 transaction limit on fuel still exists. Based pilot advised the restriction does not apply to MASTERCARD, only VISA.

Great fuel price and good fast pump as well. Unfamiliar fuel customers could benefit from better (I.E. Some) pump instructions.

8/18/2006 Airport out of fuel. Estimate 40-50% of runway lights inop. Strongly suggest avoiding this facility at night unless familiar with area and surrounding terrain.

Flew in on Wednesday 8/9/06. The runway is in overall good shape, but is sprouting weeds and needs to be cleaned up. You can tell it is underutilized. We flew in to visit some relatives, who picked us up. I had called early in the morning to the number listed for Rymes Oil to check fuel availability, the young lady was very pleasant and confirmed fuel was available. I was shocked upon landing to find that not only did they have a self-serve pump, but it was $3.67 per gallon...WOW! Not bad. I was told the town is looking to improve the airport, all it needs is some TLC and some exposure to get it active again. Look forward to our next visit.

The pump is set up to limit sales to $50. That amount won't even fill a Cessna 150. I had to run my credit card TEN times to fill my Baron. I faxed them a note asking that the problem be addressed.

$3.99 for gas and you have to pump it yourself? Go to Nashua - fifty cents cheaper and they pump it for you!!

First time flying to Hawthorne.. on approach at pattern altitude on downwind for 20 it can be unnerving to lose sight of the runway. The trees lining the West side of the runway are tall enough to obscure, so be sure to keep good visual of airport buildings (not many).

Accepts regular credit cards now, company card no longer needed.
