What a great place to stop if you are east of Rockford, IL. The vintage aircraft being flown and restored here are among the finest anywhere, and so are the people that fly them.

Flew in on September 6, 2010 after attending the Blakesburg annual Antique Fly-In. Poplar Grove has the best grass strips anywhere! They also have a nicely paved runway. But even the great grass strips can't compare to the most amazing aviation-friendly staff when it comes to places you simply must include in a flight plan.

8/31/2010 Stopped at Poplar Grove and spent three days in Rockford. Good fuel price and they took care of filling my Cessna 340 and then came up with a tug and parked it for me. Great job and great people.

Great airport, great, friendly staff and fantastic fuel prices. I used to fly into Lake in the Hills when visiting my mother, but Poplar Grove is my new favorite destination. Rockford controllers are more than helpful as the last time I flew in it was on the VOR-A all the way to minimums. I can't say enough about how great this FBO is.

We stopped by randomly on our way to Oshkosh, mainly because they had Mogas to feed the Subaru powered RV-7A we were traveling in. Shortly after pulling up to the fuel pumps, we realized that we were at coolest airport we had ever been to! Their service greatly exceeded our expectation. Due to recent heavy rains at Oshkosh, they were not accepting arriving aircraft for camping. We ended up staying the day, night, and half the next day at Poplar Grove. Our group enjoyed our relaxing stay there more than the Oshkosh fly-in. Overnight accommodations offered to us by the wonderful people included camping in the grass beside the FBO, an airpark hangar fully equipped with full bath, and the FBO building. We settled for a room at the Radisson, which sent a van to pick us up. C77 is a great place to spend a day while traveling...If you stop for fuel and hang out for an hour, you might be like us and not want to leave! We'll be back!

Friendly folks. Were able to hangar our 210 in the heated, mechanics hangar for $50.

Brought our Skylane in to Poplar Grove Airmotive for its Annual, and could not be more pleased. The shop team really knows small airplanes and has a roster of specialists who make sure everything is done right. The owners, Steve and Tina, are very gracious hosts as well, and the airport is filled with interesting airplanes and pilots.
