About Cutter Aviation
Founded in 1928, Cutter Aviation is America's oldest continually family-owned FBO and aviation service company. In operation for over 80 years, Cutter Aviation operates at eight major airports in the Southwestern United States. Cutter locations in Arizona (Deer Valley and Phoenix Sky Harbor), New Mexico (Albuquerque) and Texas (Dallas Executive, McKinney, El Paso and San Antonio) and Colorado (Colorado Springs) provide a wide range of services to transient and based aircraft including fuel and FBO service, maintenance, avionics, new and pre-owned aircraft sales and charter and aircraft management.

The Phoenix, Deer Valley, Albuquerque, and Dallas Executive facilities are full-service, fixed-base operations, with El Paso, McKinney and Colorado Springs providing line services for transient aircraft. San Antonio provides new and pre-owned aircraft sales as well as maintenance.

Looking Back
Continuously family-owned for eight decades, the company originated as Cutter Flying Service Inc., in Albuquerque. William P. Cutter envisioned a business that would serve the fledgling aviation community - and the resulting enterprise exceeded his expectations. The company survived the Great Depression, and, at the outbreak of World War II, became major pilot training facility for the military. In 1947, the company began its long-standing affiliation with Beech Aircraft Corporation. Since that time, the Cutter name became, and continues to be, synonymous with major and emerging aircraft brands ranging from piston singles to light and medium turbine aircraft.

Looking Ahead
Over the years, Cutter has maintained a position of leadership in the general aviation community by consistently expanding its services and its locations. Cutter Aviation, Inc., opened its Phoenix operation in 1959. The El Paso facility opened in 1982, Deer Valley followed in 1997, San Antonio in 1998, Dallas in 2002, and McKinney and Colorado Springs in 2006. Cutter remains strong due to an unwavering commitment to customer service, customer and employee satisfaction, and business practices rooted in our core values of respect, trust and integrity.

Company President Will Cutter reinforces this: "These are key ingredients to a formula that has kept us at the forefront of the industry. They have helped us establish a reputation that we are all proud of. Our values have served us well for eighty years, and without them, Cutter would be just another run-of-the-mill service station for airplanes."

Top-notch customer service! Pull up in front, they park the plane inside overnight and have it fueled when you show up in the morning, parked out front again ready to go. Plus, they drove me to my hotel and picked me up the next morning. This level of service more than pays for the higher fuel prices. Last week I came through and stopped at a tiny nearby airport for cheap fuel. From now on, I'm stopping at ABQ and Cutter Aviation. Thanks guys!

In the midst of ten Apache helicopters arriving, the line crew had no trouble getting our little piston single to a good spot for the hour we were here. They attended to the needs of my ten year old son (water? vending machine? bathroom? pinball on the computer?) while I relaxed for a little bit before we pushed on to their Deer Valley location.

Always a favorite stop in our aircraft, for quick turns and good fuel prices. Friendly staff always helpful. Crew cars always available for lunch into town, which has lots of great places for chow.

I stopped at KABQ overnight on a trip to Las Vegas. Because I prefer to avoid businesses that prevent comments on AirNav, I chose Cutter over the unlisted Atlantic Aviation. Everyone was very friendly and exhibited a can-do, "How can we help?" attitude. They gave us a lift to our hotel and back the next morning, fueled the airplane exactly to my specifications, and overall made us feel like valued customers. Very pleasant stop, and we'll be back next time our travels take us to ABQ. Who knows, maybe Atlantic is $1.50 cheaper per gallon, has fresh Pumpkin Pie for pilots, and gives limo rides to motels. Probably not, but I'll never know because they chose to prevent comments on AirNav. Kudos to Cutter.

I can't quite understand what the previous comment deems as ridiculous? The FBO provided a service to both you and your passenger. I bet they even had clean bathrooms and turned on the air conditioning for you. I am not an FBO owner and I fly professionally; however, we need to understand that FBO's do not operate with a small overhead or cheap insurance. We are all in this together.

Landed at ABQ. At Cutter, I deplaned a passenger. Was there a total of 5 minutes. Was assessed a $20 ramp fee. In this day and age of economic tough times, I understand certain things must be done. But this was ridiculous. We'll be trying the other FBO on the field in the future.

We stayed with Cutter for 2 nights in our little 172. They treated us great! Sure the gas is expensive but it is a major airport. They got us a rental car and gave us a lot of local info. Thanks Dolores!!!!

Cutters ramp fee is due is you shut down on their ramp. Fee is $20, waived with minimum 10-gallon fuel purchase per side. Twenty gallons at $6.20 gets the ramp fee waived for $124 dollars.

The fuel here is incredibly expensive, and customer service when I arrived was less than friendly. I guess it's hit-or-miss with them, because the girl behind the counter when I left, and the maintenance guys I talked to, were all very professional.

From John Galouzes on 04-Mar-2008

I stopped at the other FBO on the field, borrowed their crew car, and they topped the tanks while I ate some lunch in town. When it was time to depart, the one working radio was not transmitting. The FBO that I was sitting at didn't have avionics folks available and suggested I go over to Cutter Aviation. I did just that and after some brief discussion, an avionics tech named Pat grabbed his tool bag and headed to the plane for a "quick look". About 20 minutes later, both radios were working better than I've heard them work before. I offered to settle up, but Pat said no. Pat waited on the ramp until I gave him the thumbs up. Although I had no problems with the folks at the other FBO aside from hearing a less-than-appropriate personal phone conversation from the lady at the front desk, Cutter Aviation's professionalism and willingness to assist me have earned my trust. Thanks to the folks at Cutter Aviation and thanks to Pat for taking a personal interest in my situation.

I chose Cutter twice recently. Most all went nicely with Cutter however departure was different. The location Cutter chose to park my airplane was around a long row of T hangars, out of sight, and back by the southwest fence. Knowing there is limited parking space at Cutter, I do not understand why I was towed two to three city blocks away. I asked to speak with someone to address my concerns and was approached by Adam Herrera. After explaining this to Mr. Herrera I was told "there was a Gulfstream parked by the side of your airplane all night." Well, good enough however this does not alleviate my concerns for being parked so far away as well as I did not park this Gulfstream or my King Air on this spot. Mr. Herrera issued an apology and, at this point, I am not clear if he ever understood my concern. I was told when I park at Cutter in the future "it would never happen again." I'm not sold on whether he understands security is foremost in these times.

I have stopped at Cutter a few times and have always received excellent service. The fuel is a little high but the service more than makes up the difference. They were willing to drop off at a restaurant then take us to the hotel they had made a reservation at for us (with a good discount) and pick us up the next morning all at no extra charge. I will be using Cutter on the next trip.

Had to stay overnight in ABQ due to weather. Everyone at Cutter was extremely helpful. Line guys were happy to give me a ride to a hotel and pick up in the morning. Tie down fee was waived, even though I didn't take that much fuel. It was nice to be treated like an important customer even in a single engine prop. Thanks for the rides, guys! I will definitely come back to Cutter if in ABQ again.

From Robert Snyder on 08-Jun-2007

We recently flew cross-country from MD to NV and back, stopping in ABQ both times. The line service folks were great and really did give us the "red" carpet treatment. The front office ladies, however, need customer service training. The first flight through we chalked up the front office experience to the lady having a bad day. However, when we came back through a week later we got the same lack of responsiveness from a different lady: as if we weren't good enough. This second lady acted as if we were bothering her when we requested that our Piper Archer be hangared due to looming CB (at an outrageous fee). Then we were made to wait almost an hour for Cutter Aviation staff to take us to the ABQ Rental Car Center all the while the same lady stating that our transport would be "in a minute".

From Lorinda Forrest & Jim Causey on 21-Mar-2007

We planned to fly into ABQ to pick up our new puppy from a local breeder. I called Cutter to arrange for a car and hangar space for our Skywagon since it had just snowed. The person I spoke with sounded like he didn't know what he was doing. It bothered me so much I called the morning of our flight to confirm details. When we arrived, they didn't know whom we were, no rental car was brought out and the line guys didn't know if they had the hangar space. The girl at the desk couldn't find the car reservation and said, "Oh, well, you'll just have to take the shuttle to Hertz on the other side of the airport." Back at the plane, Jim told me the line guys said to go to "Hangar B", and left. Hangar B was not visible. The girl behind the counter didn't know where it was either. Fuming, we sat in the plane for a few minutes, took out the Flight Guide and looked up the other FBO on the field. I called and they said they'd be happy to put us in their hangar and "would a Ford Taurus be okay?"
