Charles handled us late Saturday afternoon. Didn't get the lineman's name, but it was cold and windy and he did not hestitate to step out and lead us in. Got help with hotel and tie-down.

There are not to many airports you fly into and get this type of service. Mark & Derek went beyond & above, from fueling, catering, car rentals and directions. Refreshing!

Had emergency gear repair on Cessna Twin. Got right on it and expected expedite fees. Great help with crew car/hotel Made STUPID mistake not to ask labor rates. OK'd a few other items fixed. Got bill, parts at list (not great but not the major point of discontent) but labor was lump sum and when asked hours and breakdown was told $92/hr! Only 2 hours was not straight time. Questioned owner and replied I was lucky, poor work by my home shop, letting me go with other things that should be fixed. I asked "Is this what you charge for similar aircraft based at your field" and answer was "YES". Plane went to my shop for annual (well known, respected and operates fleet of same aircraft) for annual and as suspected claims of what unauthorized parts, etc unfounded. We all know there are two sides to every story, simply suggest you know labor rates before proceeding with repair at this shop. Final note called other shop on this field and asked labor rate for this type plane, response was $50/hr.

Even though I had parked at Quest late at night (it's where I saw airplanes parked!) someone from AFS who had come to the airport to check on a plane that hadn't cancelled their flight plan gave us a ride to the Ramada. That's good service!

I arrived at ABR with my student at 20:15. It turns out that both FBO's close at 20:00. After walking around the ramp looking for a self-service pump, we found some pilots in a hangar. They called up Mark and within 10 minutes, he was back at the airport refueling our aircraft. He offered to give us a car to go into town and get something to eat. We didn't want to bother Mark anymore so we declined. We were back in the airplane in no time. Mark was very helpful and went beyond our expectations. Mark also said they were getting a self-service installed hopefully by June of 2008. Overall, a really great experience at Aberdeen Flying Service!

I needed a place to put down due to weather and was able to contact these guys in the air. They had a heated hangar waiting for me in 15 mins. and a courtesy car at my disposal. Fuel was kind of pricey, compared to the FBO on the same field, but when it's -15F I ain't price shopping. The service cannot be beat.
