Nice airport with air conditioning and wireless Internet. What more can you ask for?

For an airport in Minnesota the facilities at Albert Lea are embarrassing. For corporate travel this sit is a pilot's nightmare. There is nothing better than a hard chair in the lobby to sit in. No television or public computer. No car to go get lunch. For a town of this size more should be expected. It may seem like a lot to ask, but a corporate pilot will sit in a terminal for as many as 12 hours. This is a long wait without any transportation to town or comfortable place to sit. As much as I enjoy sitting in a shrine to an airport manager, I would much rather enjoy sitting in an FBO managed by somebody who understood corporate aviation. If this is merely a fuel stop it is an excellent airport for that. There is plenty of ramp space and a very attentive staff.

Busy airport plane wise but the building was locked up tight. The facilities looked better to me than the previous write-ups however.

(NO AMENITIES) Albert Lea has no TV, no pilot's lounge or snooze room, no courtesy car, and no coffee pot. The only space available to sit is overgrown with HUGE houseplants, the chairs date back to the early 70's (no exaggeration) and the walls are plastered with pictures of the airport manager. There is however, a somewhat clean bathroom and a weather computer. (Provided by the state of Minnesota) If you have to wait here very long, you will be more comfortable sitting in your airplane.

A sign on the display case reads, FEEL FREE TO USE THE FACILITES YOUR PURCHASE OF FUEL WILL CONTINUE THE USE, the only thing to use is the restroom.

Great service. Nice uncontrolled airport. Very helpful with local information. Getting a rental car was a little difficult; car rental people wanted a signed contracted, faxed to them before delivering a car to the airport? All worked out w/o faxing contract.
