Had to divert to KAJR because of weather on a trip from MD and glad that I happened to choose it. Jim and Marvene were incredibly friendly and helpful. Got me a rental car and the plane remained tied down for a week and they didn't charge a tiedown fee because I bought fuel there. Always lots of friendly aviators in the office and lounge area.

It's with most sadness that I have to write here that the Runway House is now closed for good. Flew to Cornelia two Sundays ago for their great buffet but the airport manager, when saw us walking out the driveway, gave us the sad news. Too bad as one of the few "ultimate" $100 hamburger spot.

Great place to stop for fuel. Very friendly folks and quick to help out with the hose and ground.

Jim and Marvene were very professional and nice. My wife and I flew in and left the plane for 4 days. I topped the plane off and ask if I owed any ramp tie down fees. I expected to pay something but Jim said no. So that was very nice. Great people and a nice area to fly.

Landed here to spend a couple of days in nearby Helen, Ga. The lineman was friendly and very helpful. We had arranged in advance a car with the local rental agency - Chris Hulsey Auto who said the car would be there when we arrived. Even though we arrived an hour later (due to time zone change) than projected the car was not there. Habersham Aviation's crew called and got it delivered. When the car arrived all four tires were low (20 lbs. or less), fuel was empty, and the car was filthy, especially the interior which even had remnants of snack food on the floor. I called the car agency who apologized and deducted the .15 per mile fee from the cost. Habersham Aviation and the airport was great, but they need a new rental car agency.

Stopped by here on our way back from Florida to Indiana. Fuel was competitive for the area and he let us borrow his car to go get some lunch, which was very nice of them!

We flew in to Habersham for the Southeastern Bonanza Society dinner at the Runway Fish House. My wife Sheryl and I spent the night instead of flying back to Bartow. Everyone at the airport was just about as friendly as can be. The next morning there were a few guys on the porch that entertained us with stories of local plane crashes as well as riding a bike backwards. We had a great time, and we'll be back.

Jim and Marvene were generous, thoughtful, and wonderfully hospitable. We flew up to Habersham Saturday 19 June to meet with the people nearby working on a piece of furniture that we had ordered. We would have liked to have borrowed the crew car -- of which there is only one -- to get to the shop; Jim and Marvene, though, were concerned about how much time we might have to have the car, so instead Jim drove us in, then offered to come fetch us back to the airport whenever we finished doing what we needed to do. (As it was, the furniture people brought us back.) North Georgia hospitality at its finest! And great little airport!

Made an unexpected stop here for wx on a Sunday. There was a group of locals at the terminal and loads of planes on the ramp. Super nice folks and all the good things about small towns. But they also had a nice terminal with computer and rest area.

Southern hospitality at it's best, that is what you get when you land at Habersham County Airport. I apologize for not having the name of the older gentleman, but he waited until 8pm to meet us with the intent of giving us a ride to the Hampton Inn. What he really did was make the crew car available for us that evening and returning it early AM--we left at 7am the following morning. What a wonderful experience and what a great representation for the airport and aviation. My sincere thanks for your hospitality.

Jim Tatum (for whom the terminal is named) has been in GA at least 50 years and still loves everything about it. He and wife Marvene have helped me out in countless ways, and would do the same for any of you with a smile as big as the south. They got Jet-A last year, lots of expansion plans in the works. Check out the Runway Fish House if you're *really* hungry.
