The transient parking is indeed on the grass on the north side of the runway. A $5 fee is collected via honor system for stays longer than an hour.

This is a privately owned airport without a real FBO that handles all aspects of the operation. There is an active flight school and an excellent and friendly maintenance facility that has full service fuel, normally open until 1700. A few transient parking places have been added near the maintenance hangar, but that does not help much during boat shows, Navy games, etc. The ramp, runway and parallel taxiway are all in good shape. Wireless available on the ramp and in the Pilot Shed (combination 521). A new shopping center is under construction just North of the runway. Many restaurants within walking distance.

I got the usual nice service from the Chesapeake Aviation folks, including some minor troubleshooting (again) and fast fuel service. The previous commenter's problems are noted and the transient parking on the other side of the runway is definitely suboptimal; however, Chesapeake is a maintenance and fuel facility without authority over the rest of the airport, so what the gentleman said was correct - he couldn't do much for it. Recommend unloading passengers and bags by the pilot shed, next to the fuel pump, before taking the plane to parking.

Not a very transient friendly airport. Transient parking is on the north side of the runway about mid-field. The grass has not been cut for some time. A rough taxi. I shut down for fear of dinging the prop but it was impossible to push the airplane through the tall grass. Fortunately, I found two people (not airport staff) to help push it back. It was quite a hike, with suitcases, from the transient parking to the place where there was a phone and where the cabs come. On departure the maintenance guy said he was not responsible for the grass and that he had no tug to pull me off the tiedown. I left feeling I had bothered him. The rest room is filthy and has a warm and friendly sign saying you have to leave $175 cash with the airport personnel for the Roto-Rooter fee if you put paper towels or cigarette butts into the toilet. This was not a joke. Fortunately, there were no paper towels in the restroom so the risk was averted. The airport is in a great location for a visit to Annapolis.

Was in for a week's visit and was once again impressed by the service Chesapeake Aviation provided for fuel and some minor maintenance squawks. Fuel's reasonably priced given the area. If you need food, Ledo's Pizza is a short walk away and there are others nearby. Don't let the ADIZ scare you out of here; it's a good stop.
