Last weekend I was there and had excellent service. It is the only airport in the Chicago area that I know of that does not charge for parking overnight or no landing fees. I kept my airplane there for 2 days and was very satisfied with the service.

I recently stopped at Lumanair for fuel. I had a similar experience as the previous comment. No marshals for taxiing had to go in and the lady at the counter seemed like I was troubling her when I asked for fuel. Another nice gentlemen suggested the self-serve, but it wasn't working. After waiting for fuel for a bit, the lady did a 180 on me and became very friendly. All in all I would rate the service FAIR.

I was planning a personal trip that would take me through the Chicago area and I planned to stop at Lumanair to avoid the fees at other area airports. I contacted Mike at Lumanair to make sure that I would have AOPA's flight planner available to me so I could access the next leg of my trip. Although they did not have it, Mike was great and downloaded the software for me. Speaking with Mike over the telephone, he was polite, professional and very helpful. When I had to cancel my trip at the last minute for an unexpected maintenance issue, Mike was very understanding. The next time I travel to the Chicago area, I will definitely stop at Lumanair!

Flew in for training at GLASS Sim School. That was a great experience and would recommend them without hesitation. Lumanair did a great job in terms of getting me situated after a long day. Hertz in their facility got me into a rental car. Very fair prices on gas (self serve saves). Staff very helpful and friendly. Great place to stop in Chicago area. Good towered airport with multiple nice sized runways.

Flew in recently in a Citation. This was my second visit in about six months and found both experiences to be the same. The line staff was timely in both marshaling us in and providing fuel/GPU/or other services. The desk staff was reluctantly helpful when asked, but otherwise ignored us.

Just finished my SEPP check ride through Lumanair. Instruction was great, the facilities fine. Thanks Greg! This is now my home airport. It's very accessible, the tower is the most helpful I've encountered, and the airport facility is top notch for a class D.

GREAT experience. Flew down late Saturday night for a meeting in the area. Asked to be plugged in to keep the engine toasty - aircraft was right up front, out of the wind, plugged in and ready when I got back. Nice facility and friendly service. Will definitely be back.

After reading the previous comment that the service had improved I decided to try again, bad decision! Not a lineman to be found to direct me to parking (later saw 3 inside talking about dinner plans). Two people were behind the counter but never acknowleged my arrival. After standing at counter awhile I asked the woman where to get fuel. It seemed like I was in her way!! She asked how long before I would be leaving, when I said an hour she said, "Oh, a quick turn!" If that is quick, I hate to hear long!! Tried to do some work on my laptop in the lounge (they do have wireless in the lounge) but the office next door had music turned way up which made it difficult to concentrate! After paying for the fuel I stood at the counter to see if she would thank me for the purchase or for coming. Not a word was said as she went back to doing something else! Only good thing is tower staff was professional and helpful. Will be looking for other airports in area from now on, two strikes and you're out!!
