I had an interesting, but pleasant experience with Lumanair. I bought an airplane and they did the pre-buy/annual on it, I hoped to pick it up on Wednesday even though they told me it might not be ready, I went anyway. When I arrived in Chicago, Al had called and left a message that they had an issue with a fuel pump. Long story short, it was ready Friday night late, Rick stayed way past closing time to make sure it was right, even gave me his home number, just in case. Well, Saturday morning we discovered a fuel leak and Rick was out within 15 minutes and got me on my way. He even waited until I took off before he went home. All the employees were nice and understanding, even getting me a discounted hotel room and some great suggestions for things to do. I even met "Ma Luman" at 90 something, she's a hoot! I would recommend them to anyone in the area.

Flew in last night about 8pm and was treated to very prompt and courteous service from the incredibly friendly staff. I'll stop here anytime I'm in the area!

The Guys (and ladies) at Lumanair continue to impress me. I have flown into Aurora a number of times this summer and the service is consistently top-notch and professional. The line guys are prompt, courteous and professional, the office staff make sure you are a completely satisfied customer and your needs are met. Wonderful service, wonderful staff.

My family and I stopped here last week on a trip from Pa to ND, all I can say is this is by far the BEST FBO I have used in a long time. We landed right in front of a big storm they had us in a hangar before my wife and kids even got out of the plane. They went out of their way to get us a room even thou there was a big event in town. I highly highly recommend using Lumanair :-)

Great place to stop. They gave me self-serve prices because they forgot to mention it was available. Got us a discount hotel room and loaned us the courtesy car. Could not have been nicer or move helpful.

I stopped at Lumanair for an overnighter last Wednesday. They took care of all my airplane needs, recommended a nice, new hotel, and arranged transportation both ways. An enjoyable stop - I'll go back.

Recently I spent a long weekend at Aurora, IL. With my plane at the FBO, Lumanair. When some very sever weather was moving in to the area, a phone call and my plane was safely tucked away in a Lumanair hangar. The following weekend I arrived on Friday with a fuel leak, it was fixed by Monday morning. Lumanair provided quick and timely help and makes a visit to ARR a pleasant experience. The friendly folks at Lumanair sure help make flying a lot more fun.

Good early morning fuel stop. At 6 a.M. The place seemed deserted, but the self-serve island is at the edge of the huge ramp and easy to find and use.

Transferred Angel Flight passenger. Bought fuel, no fees. Friendly and attentive staff. Nice facility. Would stop here again.

First time into airport today. Easy Access, and great people at Luminair! Good fuel prices.

From Aaron Sohacki on 23-Mar-2009
Hopped over from ORD due to high fuel prices at Signature there ($7.66 vs. $3.01 for 100LL on 3/23/09). Line service was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

Flew in for a day trip for meetings in Naperville in my C-310. Great FBO! Clean, courteous, professional. Line guy was out when I taxied up. Waited to see if I needed any services. I used the SS fuel to save $ which was open and fast. Very gracious counter person whom I didn't get her name which was my fault. I emailed the manager Mike and he promptly responded and had my rental waiting upon arrival. Just a great place to stop for a quick turn or longer. Wish there were more like Lumanair! Will definitely be back.

From Kurt Flunkn on 03-Nov-2008
I have used Lumanair's self-service fuel a lot over the past summer. Fuel prices at this FBO have been consistently very competitive. I fly from my home airport just to fuel up!

Though Lumanair indicates that they carry charts, their selection is poor. I arrived there Monday, ready to depart on a week long trip to adjoining states, and I was very disappointed to find that they did not have copies of sectionals for Green Bay, Lake Huron, or Detroit. I considered purchasing WAC CF-18 as an alternative, but they didn't have that chart either. If you need charts, don't count on Lumanair having the ones you want.

From David MacNeil on 27-Jul-2008
Lumanair is a well run FBO with friendly, very well trained people that will go out of their way to help anyone. Aurora is a very busy Chicago airport with hundreds of based aircraft and a ramp full of transient aircraft from G550's to Cub's. The folks behind the desk work hard to help everyone and occasionally they are swamped, so showing a little patience and empathy for their situation is sometimes necessary. As an Aurora based operator of both piston and turbine aircraft, I have very high standards and having personally flown to 48 States and 24 Countries, my experience with Lumanair as an FBO is among the very best.

From Mathieu Labs on 02-Jun-2008
Last weekend I was there and had excellent service. It is the only airport in the Chicago area that I know of that does not charge for parking overnight or no landing fees. I kept my airplane there for 2 days and was very satisfied with the service.

From Michael Cable on 31-Dec-2007
I recently stopped at Lumanair for fuel. I had a similar experience as the previous comment. No marshals for taxiing had to go in and the lady at the counter seemed like I was troubling her when I asked for fuel. Another nice gentlemen suggested the self-serve, but it wasn't working. After waiting for fuel for a bit, the lady did a 180 on me and became very friendly. All in all I would rate the service FAIR.

From Joe Donohue on 08-Oct-2007
I was planning a personal trip that would take me through the Chicago area and I planned to stop at Lumanair to avoid the fees at other area airports. I contacted Mike at Lumanair to make sure that I would have AOPA's flight planner available to me so I could access the next leg of my trip. Although they did not have it, Mike was great and downloaded the software for me. Speaking with Mike over the telephone, he was polite, professional and very helpful. When I had to cancel my trip at the last minute for an unexpected maintenance issue, Mike was very understanding. The next time I travel to the Chicago area, I will definitely stop at Lumanair!

Flew in for training at GLASS Sim School. That was a great experience and would recommend them without hesitation. Lumanair did a great job in terms of getting me situated after a long day. Hertz in their facility got me into a rental car. Very fair prices on gas (self serve saves). Staff very helpful and friendly. Great place to stop in Chicago area. Good towered airport with multiple nice sized runways.

From Justin Eckart on 12-Mar-2007
Flew in recently in a Citation. This was my second visit in about six months and found both experiences to be the same. The line staff was timely in both marshaling us in and providing fuel/GPU/or other services. The desk staff was reluctantly helpful when asked, but otherwise ignored us.

From Don Johnson on 10-Mar-2007
Just finished my SEPP check ride through Lumanair. Instruction was great, the facilities fine. Thanks Greg! This is now my home airport. It's very accessible, the tower is the most helpful I've encountered, and the airport facility is top notch for a class D.

From Michael Piechowski on 24-Jan-2007
GREAT experience. Flew down late Saturday night for a meeting in the area. Asked to be plugged in to keep the engine toasty - aircraft was right up front, out of the wind, plugged in and ready when I got back. Nice facility and friendly service. Will definitely be back.
