Citation II flight crew from La Crosse, WI. Arrived on a weekday, about 8am. Airport was quite... Runway in decent shape. Airport has non-standard runway lights. As an example, the runway edge lights are displaced almost 20 feet each side wider than the pavement is. Hmm?!? Arrival building has an old Swiss style to it, but no Internet access. What? No Internet access at a resort area? Not sure why. Make note... The motel / restaurant looking building on south end of the runway is NOT a restaurant. It is actually a rather shady looking old apartment building. Rapidly rising terrain (for Michigan) on the approach end of runway 17.

Nice stop. If you want to tie down, you must bring your own. Two restaurants in Boyne Falls, 1/2 mile walk, are options. Otherwise, Boyne Mountain Resort is a good place.

Runway is in decent shape and they seem to keep it clear, but call ahead to make sure. There is an FBO building that appears to be open all the time and is heated. It has plenty of seats, a phone, and flight planning area. The shuttle service was free, prompt, and courteous. There is an outside 110 receptacle for engine heaters but bring your own extension cord (the day I was there they had an extra one). You will need to position close to the FBO to plug in (will be on the right side as you taxi in next to the A/C compressor).
