Upon arrival I waited over 15 minutes for an escort of a rental car to my plane. They said there were several aircraft that had just landed. Upon departure two days later, I went in to the FBO after my preflight to drop off the keys to my rental car and I was surprised to find it unattended. And once the door closed behind me, I was locked out of the ramp. When I used the phone next to the door to the ramp to call someone, I was transferred and then prompted to leave a voice mail. Really?? You can imagine the frustration when there was weather moving in at my destination and being forced to wait over 20 minutes for someone to unlock the door to the ramp. It is quite obvious that this FBO is significantly understaffed. Note to Bangor Aviation: I understand the need for security protocols at Class C airports but notwithstanding, pilots expect and frankly demand immediate and unfettered access to their aircraft. What are both the ramp fee and handling fee for then?
