Stopped into BGR this week to pick up a part from Telford for our PA-31-350 (Piper Chieftain). At Avitat the line service is non-existent if you do not buy fuel (no one to marshal you in or out, etc) they will happily run you to the PAX terminal if need be however. Was forced to overnight due to a mechanical malfunction on the airplane hangaring was typical for a large airport $236/night but this is the first time I have been charged a towing fee when I was putting the aircraft in the same FBO's hangar. $60 towing fee to tow the airplane!!! The staff are friendly and as helpful as the FBO policies will allow; but all in all not an FBO I would recommend.

I'm a student at Daniel Webster College and I flew to Bangor as part of a 6 hour XC. I needed to get fuel there so I called earlier in the day to let them know my eta. When I arrived there was a fuel truck on the ramp waiting next to my parking space. Very quick turn around with friendly line staff and office personnel. I'd definitely go back.

Used BGR twice recently in our Challenger. The staff there were very nice and try to help, the policies put down by the city are terrible. The "FBO" (its not a real FBO) is run by the city and it seems that the city could care less about repeat business; they just want the money from the airplanes. We needed newspapers. They had the local newspaper and the Wall Street Journal, that’s it. No USA Today or anything else. Seems that if the newsstand at the terminal does not carry the paper, that the FBO will not get them for you. Crew car so that we could get lunch or get papers? Do not even ask. Rental cars? Did you order one in advance? If not then there is a good chance none are available. We were able to find someone who was nice enough to give us a ride to town to pick up newspapers and food for the crew. Best thing that could ever happen to aviation in Bangor is to have an independent FBO open up on the airport to provide some service and competition to what is there now.

Dropped of a Cessna 206 at Telford didn't even buy avgas from Avitat. They tied down the airplane (it was snowing) and gladly gave me a ride to the terminal to catch a flight home. Very friendly and helpful.

Not an airport/FBO conducive to GA, specifically the little guy. A few inconveniences like no marshaling on arrival, self-parking, self tie down, no rent-cars at the FBO, and you must be escorted on the ramp to load luggage. The staff offers basic help but didn't get very creative to help us get a mountain of luggage to a Hertz car.

We cleared Customs here and ended up spending the night. The Airport, Customs and FBO all treated us VERY WELL. The FBO directed us to the flight service station (closing this month) arranged a hotel ($50/night) and transportation all with a smile. We will fly a C182 and recommend this airport.
