Don't stop here unless you like paying the highest prices for everything, with no service to be had. They charge $15 per day (not night) for "parking", but I had to provide my own ropes to tie down, and carry my baggage over to and through the only doorway provided (about 300 yards). The airport manager Randall Earnest (305) 327-5308, told me that I was the only 1 out of 1000 customers to complain. My 30 gallons of gas cost me $190.50 after they added taxes and "parking" charges for a weekend. Call him the next time you were thinking about landing here and tell him why you decided not to. Please use my name as a referral! Harold Doty

We flew in on 5/25/07 for Memorial Day weekend. Service was great- Avgas was $3.70; plane was hangared for $15/night. We rented a car from Hertz, no problem.

Not fancy, but it's a good place, Hertz car rental on the field, line service personel were nice, and helpful.

Bluefield/Mercer County Airport has been fighting a battle for a few years to maintain what it has. They are renovating the terminal, have WSI, and the staff have always been accommodating as they could have been to me. There is no excuse for genuine bad-attitude poor service, but operating a small airport with any kind of service can be a constant battle. Bluefield should not be unfairly bashed for not having the services of Million Air HOU when they are doing the best they can.

Stop into BLF about 1's a month and could not ask for better service, Lineman Kenny let me use his car to go get lunch this past Sat and also met some of the local pilots and they made me feel right at home.
