This is a nice airport and the people are very friendly and helpful, but it's a very expensive overnight stop. Fees are $15/night SE and $20 ME with no discount for a fuel purchase. There is no courtesy car and cab fare to town is $25 one way. I rented a car from Hertz but still paid about the same as a round trip cab ride after putting fuel in the rental. I won't be back.

Mercer County is a pretty place to stop. However, as has been pointed out in previous posts, the support services vary. We called ahead to ensure there was fuel (in fact the FBO was open and we had them fuel us from the truck). However, if they are not open, accessing a restroom is highly doubtful. There are no snack or soda machines on-site. The area is a big supporter of Pilots-N-Paws rescue flights. If you happen to be passing near the area and can help with transport contact PNP.

Flew into Bluefield yesterday, our passenger's rental car was waiting planeside, competitive fuel price, very friendly and accommodating staff. Facilities in the terminal include restrooms and Hertz onsite. Typical of the small airport that should be supported whenever possible. Give these guys your business, they work hard for it and deserve it.

Landed mid afternoon on a Thursday. No one in sight. Self-serve fuel worked fine but was a bit of a search to find a restroom.

Thanks for the visit. Friendly people. $15 parking for overnight, but it included placement in the hangar - bargain.

I called the airport to make sure they had fuel available and check all NOTAMS about the airport. Stopped in at Midnight and BIG SIGN on their "24 hour" fuel. AV GAS PUMPS OUT OF ORDER. Almost had me in a pickle. Cheap gas prices, but I will go to Huntington instead.

Flew in on a snowy evening. They immediately put airplane in hangar. When I returned they had it refueled and ready. Groundside access is difficult but just call for service.
