Made another run to FL this past week from WVA and stopped at Barnwell again both directions for fuel and a break...This place is terrific...Excellent FBO, cheap fuel...Even though self serve, they always come out to help... Offered bottles of water... Only regret is that we didn't overnite this trip and have dinner at Vince’s.

Great fuel stop on trip from VA to Panama City. RONed for weather on the way back. Mike offered the courtesy van for the night, a discount coupon for a hotel, and recommendations for good food. All this in addition to their great service and good fuel price. We'll definitely be back.

Believe all the other outstanding reviews! We stopped at KBNL for fuel and a stretch-break on our way to Disney from the Washington, DC area. Best price for fuel within hundreds of miles. We knew we'd be stopping after closing time so I called ahead for information on self-serve. Extremely friendly folks gave easy-to-follow instructions for fuel, provided code to access restrooms, offered to leave courtesy van, and gave phone numbers to call if we had any trouble. Self-serve fuel was super-easy, and the whole facility was immaculate. Runway looks (and feels) brand new. It is evident these folks have put a lot of thought into making this a great fuel stop, and they have succeeded. This will be our new designated stop anytime we're headed to / from Florida.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! This place is the perfect 'rest' stop. Runway 17/35 looks new (repaved 5 years ago). They have 100LL and 93 Octane Mogas. The Ops area has weather and a personal computer at no charge. Everything is pristine. They let us use the Ops car for free. But above all, everyone was extremely accommodating and super friendly. It's like you never left home. Note: Look out for towers departing runway 17 if you are heading South bound. Don't dog it like we did and climb early.

This is the second trip to FL that we've made where we stopped at Barnwell in both directions. This is the best kept secret for private pilots in the south. We called in advanced and "asked" to borrow their crew car for the nite. We arrived after hours but the van was waiting for us on the ramp. We had dinner at Vincent’s (on the road from the airport to motel)...Fantastic food. We stayed at the Day's Inn for a fair rate. All the folks in the area from the FBO, restaurant and hotel displayed the typical friendly southern hospitality. This is just a great stopover. The avgas is also about as cheap as you can find.

On Monday, March 28, a friend and I stopped at Barnwell enroute to Sun n Fun. We had made plans to stop there for fuel - but due the extreme weather conditions across Fla, we decided to stay the night. The FBO provided us great service and also a courtesy van during our layover. The FBO staff was extremely helpful and their facilities are excellent. We were able to get rooms at a local hotel and then went out searching for some supper. Well we found a jewel in Barnwell called "Vincents". Excellent southern food and the staff were wonderful. We had such a great time - locals were friendly and the restaurant was magnificent - that the owner came by to say hello and we were overjoyed when he decided to sit down and join us towards the end of our meal. If you want to stop at an airport that is far superior to most and go into a real southern town for food then Barnwell is the place.

85TP stopped for gas from Manassas, VA enroute 2011 Sun 'n Fun (survived somehow!); ended up spending the night at BNL due to weather. Outstanding support from the whole team at BNL! They helped us pump self-service gas, gave us the crew car for the night, directed us to motel and good restaurants, and got us off in the morning. Great fuel prices too -- thanks again!

We had the pleasure of stopping in Barnwell traveling to and from Florida in our Bonanza. Tim, the airport manager was extremely helpful with fueling our plane, providing us with the company van, and drawing us a map for the nearby restaurants and hotels. The terminal is large, meticulously clean and well managed. I cannot thank Tim enough for the comfortable welcome we received on our recent stay. We hope to return soon.

Very good facilities and the cheapest fuel I've seen in quite a while. I picked up a flight plan in the air and rather than being with Jax Ctr as I expected it was with Columbia approach. Runways are in excellent shape.

Just confirming that all the positive comments were supported by our experience two days ago. Great service, beautiful terminal, fine crew car, and a very low fuel price. Thanks for the friendly reception, Tim! We've never made a better fuel stop on the snowbird route.

Even though it's "self serve, " the airport attendant, Mike, insisted on fueling the plane for me! Snack basket is peanut butter crackers, Moon Pies (!), etc., on the honor system. Very clean bathrooms, nice flight planning area.

It is even better than all the previous comments. We stopped here Thursday 12/30 on our way from EKY to LYH. Beautiful facility and great people. The self service gas is pumped by the airport manager who also brewed a fresh pot of coffee and offered the car to go into town for lunch. In this day and time of ever increasing cost and ever decreasing service BNL is a breath of fresh air. Support these guys!

Stopped for fuel on the way north, and even though we got the great fuel price, no one in the FBO spoke to us (2 men sitting in the office) while we sat in the nice terminal and had lunch, except for another aircrew that was on their way to Florida. I was a little disappointed after reading all of the great remarks from everyone else.

Been stopping at BNL several times a year on my way and back from Orlando. Great gas price and fantastic new facility. When FBO is staffed they always come to help with self-serve fueling. (You just have to swipe the credit card) Looking forward to next visit.

X-Country from Jackson, MS to Wilmington, NC in a C-182. Chose Barnwell because of AirNav's listed fuel prices. Glad I did. Landed after 7:00 p.M. On a Saturday. Airport totally vacant - but not to worry! Sparkling new facility has entry code on side door. Lovely, new terminal. Used facility, bought snack & drink from kitchen on "honor system." Fueled with self-serve inexpensive fuel. Highly recommend.

Stopped in for fuel on our way to/from Florida from Pennsylvania in our Cherokee Six. A very friendly place, and definitely service with a smile. Nice new building with clean restrooms, computer, phone, etc. They really make you feel at home and welcome. The GCO doesn't seem to be working properly. If you land in IMC, you'll need to get your clearance from FSS. Jacksonville Center will open in the air, as well. Once the GCO is reliable, it will be the perfect all-weather fuel stop.

GREAT! SUPER! OUTSTANDING! All apply. Even though the fuel is listed as SS, an attendant did the fueling for me. All I had to do is insert a credit card. FBO is clean and relaxing. Fuel is downright cheap! Great place to gas and go. I'll be back for sure...

I stopped in last week on my way from Michigan to Florida for fuel. They have a beautiful facility. Even though the fuel is self-service, the employees were there and read to pump the fuel before I was out of the plane. A very friendly place that I look forward to returning to on my next trip south!

You CANNOT beat these guys. What a great stop on our way from Tampa back to Charlotte. Two runways, MOGAS at $3.05! They let us take the crew car to the Mexican joint down the road. Super friendly and helpful at the SS pump. We WILL be back!

I got avgas from the self-serve system last evening. Everything worked fine, however it would be nice to have a swivel at the nozzle end due to the heavy, stiff hose. Clean and neat restrooms were a plus and at least two local pilots asked if we needed help. The price of $3.349 was one of the best numbers in South Carolina and we will probably return again.

Barnwell, SC . . . Where is Barnwell? Best kept secret. My wife and I stopped for fuel on our recent trip south . . . Mostly due to the low fuel pricing. What a surprise. We found a quaint country airstrip with excellent amenities and laid back friendly folks. I decided we should stop again on our return flight home. Once more we were treated to hometown hospitality, which included a fine courtesy car, restaurant recommendations and overnight lodging suggestions. This is not the mega airport; however, in addition to all of the previous comments we found the southern country charm of our short overnight in Barnwell irresistible.
