I've made 3 trips to CDW since Avantair closed and have been pleased with the service. Fuel prices and fees are what they are. We fly to CDW because they are close to our customers.

Fair Is Fair.. I too was also with Avantair and now an Air Bound client. Kmart is out of business at CDW and we have Nordstrom’s now. Pilots wake up and smell the roses. If you fly into a very nice Class D airport with a beautiful FBO do you really think it's fair to expect no ramp fees. Should they and their facilities be available 16 hours a day for zero dollars. Buy some fuel and support the lone FBO or we will wind up with NO FBO! If you don't like paying for real services then go to Lincoln Park Airport where they have no services. BTW the FBO has nothing to do with the counties landing fees (which are reasonable).

Recently, and since the demise of Avantair here at (CDW), Air Bound is the ONLY choice for transient aircraft to park/refuel, even for 30-60 minutes. A potential buyer for my Grumman AA1b, who had the aircraft on a "trial basis" and based elsewhere, flew in to (CDW) to pick up the logbooks for review. Since I was a prior customer of Air Bound (fuel) my debit card was still "on file" with them. Today, I was surprised to find an "unauthorized" charge of $25 for ramp parking debited to my account! Now, had Avantair still been open, and since I was also a former customers of theirs after I switched to using them after my request from Air Bound management when I was THEIR customer, to place a small sign advertising my Grumman AA1b, NOT a "G-5", on the corner of their counter which was "axed" in the words of a somewhat arrogant CSR, I immediately moved my business to Avantair. In the future, Air Bound might try NOT "stepping on to many toes" on their haste to the top!

I flew in for a meeting. They let the Limo drive up to the plane. I felt like I was Donald Trump.... Except I have hair. Parked for 5 hrs. When I went to settle up the very nice girl explained it was a $55 ramp fee or fuel. This is fair. They offer a very nice lounge and ramp. I said ok, fill it up, but it won't take much. They filled my tanks. Total of 6.0 gals. That was it. No ramp fee. Very nice, very courteous, very enjoyable. To the gentleman below, I can only say "did you ask them to waive the ramp fee?". I will be back.

Discovered AvaintAir went out of business a few days ago. Called Air Bound to reserve a rental car for a business meeting. Friendly and helpful. But when I left I see I got hit with a $40 ramp fee from Air Bound for parking from about 7:30am to 1:30pm. And that even after I purchased $200 of gas and rented a car. Oh and that does not include the $12 Port Authority Landing Fee. I doubt I will be back.

I think it only fair that I update my previous experience with Air Bound and Hertz, at the Caldwell airport. Hertz did finally correct their mistakes and applied the appropriate credit. The folks at Air Bound received me promptly and professionally on my latest visit. The Manager, Desk and Line Staff made every effort to make sure my visit was trouble free. More importantly, I mistakenly stated that Hertz is your only choice for Rental Cars. The Staff at Air Bound politely corrected me that they can make rental car arrangements with your choice of company, including Enterprise and Avis. Hats off to Air Bound for minding their customer service reputation, and I recommend them regardless of the size of your aircraft.

The Folks at Air Bound are the best, always quick and polite service. THE PROBLEM is HERTZ rental car. BE VERY CAREFUL when picking up and returning your car, make sure there are NO errors on your contract, and make sure that the Air Bound Desk CALLS HERTZ to log the car as returned. Because HERTZ does not Staff this location, you have no reasonable assurance that your car is returned properly, or if your gas addition is properly logged. HERTZ customer service is absolutely miserable in this regard. They are polite on the phone, but had to call TWICE to get the matter corrected. And it is still not corrected a week later. They won't send confirmation of the correction, you have to wait for a change on line. Again, NOT REALLY Air Bounds problem, but since they use HERTZ exclusively, you need to follow-up carefully.

I have used Air Bound several times now and have always had excellent service. The line personnel always help with luggage and allow the rental car to pull up to the plane for easy loading. Elizabeth at the desk was very helpful with the car rental. Guyon the GM has worked to secure hangar space when I needed especially when the weather was a concern. Air Bound is the #1 choice when flying into KCDW for me.

(Full disclosure: our aircraft are based at Air Bound.) We receive - and witness other tenants' and transients' crews and pax receiving - the highest level of service from Air Bound. Cathy and the CSR crew either know the answer or find it fast; Guyon and his line staff are personable and professional; and Andy and his management team are on-site, on-hand, and all-in. All this within minutes of area offices and attractions and at a fraction of the cost of TEB, MMU, or EWR. Air Bound is a hidden treasure among NY/NJ-area FBOs.

Staff was friendly but the Gen. Mgr. was very difficult to work with - I was there on May 12th for 3 days, purchased over $1000 of fuel and was charged over $200 for misc. Charges which he absolutely would no waive. Then, after paying the bill, I asked if I could put the extra charges on another credit card (a simple request) - he refused. I'll never go back to this FBO!

I chose CDW to visit the metro NYC area. Even thou there are several airports closer to the city, you can't beat the price of fuel and the commitment to service at CDW. An overall wonderful experience. I arrived in a "competitor" airplane, but was still treated wonderfully. The lineman, after pulling up our rental car and helping with the luggage, even offered to install our various exhaust covers once the engine cooled off.

3/30 I was conducting a meeting at Air Bound's facilities at KCDW. I flew in from KPNE after picking up a colleague at KFRG. With my attorney, an initial investor and my colleagues in Air Bound's impressive meeting facility, I lowered the thermostat in the conference room to 72 deg F, as it was about 80 deg in there. Guyon Nelson, Air Bound's GM threw a hissy fit and scolded me in front of my meeting participants. I apologized to the staff at Air Bound later that day. After dinner at an outstanding restaurant in Cedar Grove, NJ; Lu Nello's. I arrived at Air Bound at 10:30 PM to return home. Air Bound's hours of operation as posted are until 11:00 PM. Air Bound was closed and I luckily was able to get to my plane thanks with the folks working at the control tower. Today, 4/2, I again arrive at Air Bound to meet yet another partner/investor in my new venture. I was waived off in utter embarrassment in my 2005 Grumman Tiger. Response from Guyon Nelson, General Manager, Air Bound Aviation, LLC There are two sides every story. And while we hate to have to vet these differences online, we cannot let the above distortion of basic facts be left as the definitive word either. While Mr. DeJoy paints himself to be the unintended victim of a cantankerous FBO manager, we saw a person who is profane, arrogant, and disrespectful of others on the most basic of human levels. In the FBO business every customer is precious, yet on the other hand, I won't ask my employees nor my other customers to tolerate the kind of abuse this man can dish out. To protect my own integrity, and the great reputation we have built up over the years as a business... sometimes you have to fire a customer.

First time in the PC-12 to this airport and FBO. WOW! The snow really is three feet or higher along the taxiways as the NOTAM states. Almost too high to have the Pilatus wing still have clearance. The FBO arrangements for hotel and hangar were excellent. Nice to have Pilatus oriented staff here. When needed, we plan to return to this wonderful facility. Keep up the great work! Hope to be back next time when the snow is gone.

I decided to stay in Caldwell instead of Teterboro on my last trip into the NYC area February 14th - 17th. The deciding factor was reasonable pricing for fuel and services. Air Bound did a great job and lined up my car and hotel for my Sunday morning arrival. They were also able to make space for our Pilatus PC-12 in their hangar on the night of the 16th as there was a nice little snowstorm passing through. I would highly recommend Air Bound for your next visit to NYC or Northern NJ. Keep up the great work!

These folks took over the old MacDan location. We stopped there on a recent trip in our Citation. Terrific service. Reasonably priced fuel. Newly decorated lobby. Rental cars waiting for us as promised. Altogether a very positive experience.

We used Air Bound Aviation for the first time on Jan 15, 2010 then again on the 18th. Air Bound delivered on all the important requirements necessary to professional aviation. We faxed our requests for a quick turn and while we taxied up the fuel truck was rolling with the manager on the ramp directly overseeing the quality of service. They took meticulous care of our passengers and turned us in record time. It had been a long day and the fast service was very much appreciated. The facility is clean and nicely decorated with new furniture. The fuel price was the most competitive on the field. We were very pleased and look forward to a long relationship with Air Bound.

Airbound Aviation has taken over the former Mac Dan FBO; the service we receive from Airbound is far superior to the other FBO on the field. They have completely renovated the old FBO which makes a very comfortable stay while waiting on my passengers. They also have the most hangar space at this airport. The staff is very friendly and goes above and beyond what is expected. This is a full service FBO, although they close at 11:00 pm they have stayed after hours and have arrived early to take care of me and my passengers. I would highly recommend this FBO to everyone flying into the New York area.
