I have used Paragon's services repeatedly in the last 3 years since they became a Cirrus service center. I've also sent numerous Cirrus customers there for both warranty and out of warranty service. Tim and Steve have always provided totally professional and prompt service. Just today I showed up there with only scant warning at 4:30 pm and they jumped right in to diagnose a problem with my plane in time to order parts for tomorrow delivery. Great work Steve!

I have been using Tim and Steve since approximately 1989 for my aircraft maintenance, although I am based at HPN. They are responsive, professional, easy to work with, and fair in their pricing and business practices. We've had and continue to have a very good relationship that I value highly.

From Kevin Lynch on 08-May-2010

We had a very unfortunate experience with Paragon, on 22-Feb-10 our G1000 equipped 172 SP went in for a leaking nose strut, over a month later we got the airplane back with a bill for just over $3,800. Prior to the plane going in for repair there was no sign of any problem with the avionics, however when they had replaced the strut seal, Paragon informed us that the PFD was inoperative and needed to be sent to Garmin for repair. A week or so later we were informed the GIA #1 (Integrated Avionics unit) was in need of service, the unit was removed and reinstalled by a neighboring company C&W Aero Services at Paragons request. We got the plane back at the end of March, the nose strut is working well.

Response from Tim Smith, President, Paragon Aircraft Service
Sometimes aircraft components fail without warning, as an aircraft owner Mr. Lynch should be aware of this, he should also be thankful that it failed when it was on the ground and not during an instrument approach to or near minimums. That would have been "very unfortunate". He had the option to go elsewhere for the repair and chose not to. If he has any issues with the cost, down time or why they failed with only 260 hours since he knew he should take them up with Garmin. When we turned the master on to get the tach time for the log entry the PFD was blank. Garmin confirmed the problem. With out a functioning PFD we had no way to see the GIA #1 failure message. All we did was try to help him out. We made nothing on the avionics repair. We did every thing we could to get him back in the air as soon as possible.

Tim and Steve have been working on my airplanes since the 1980s, when they worked for another shop. They are top-notch when it comes to service. I recommend them highly.

These guys are very friendly, super responsive, willing to help, and very honest with their billing. Twice now, they have helped me out at short notice and taken care of my airplane, allowing me to watch while I learn from their mechanics.

I can't say enough good things about Paragon. Three times I came to them without an appointment regarding problems with my Cirrus SR-22. Even though I am based 350 miles away they treated me like their best customer, and immediately started to work on my Cirrus. These were not 5-minute jobs, but rather multi-hour repairs. The friendly attitude of Tim, Steve and the rest of the staff only matched the quality of the results.

I have had a good relationship with Paragon for the last few years now, and I only have positive things to say about them. I recently hired Paragon Aircraft Service to perform a prepurchase inspection on my second airplane, a Cessna 310R (twin). They helped me with that very big decision. I have had a positive experience working with Tim and Steve over the years. They are highly knowledgeable about and experienced with both twin-engine and single-engine Cessna, and were very skilled and thorough in the inspections they conducted for me in the past. I highly recommend this shop for its competence, expedience and friendly service. Whether you are a local pilot, or an out-of-town owner, this is the trustworthy and reliable service to depend on for all of your airplane maintenance/repair/inspection needs.
